It is bad.lol. Even like 2 years ago, the acceptance rates were in the 50's, now the 30's.

I think it'll still be around the mid 30% for acceptance.

btw, does Cal Poly release info on how many people applied to a particular major?

i think maybe 30% this year?

I think it might actually dip under 30% because of more budget cuts. Who knows.

Like I said earlier, I asked this question to admissions. The state's economic problems are not affecting the acceptance rate. It will affect full-time personal, student-teacher ration, etc. It does not affect acceptance rate because only ~70% of accepted students actually enroll.

oh ok. But 70% of accepted enroll? I don't think that sounds right. Last year, 11,000 were admitted, that'd mean 7700 enrolled....That seems off.. But w/e.

That seems about right koreanboi, 70% is actually quite high for the amount of accepted students to register.

Hmmm, yield rate is about 31%, from what it says on this site. And the profile that SLO released has a yield rate of 34%. ~70% must be the rate at which applicants don't attend, accepted or rejected. All I want is to get ready to go to another school, put down deposits, and then finally get that call: "Someone has dropped from enrollment, and SLO would like you to fill that spot." KoreanBoi, you should be an investigative journalist, you always seem to question the correct statements.

lol.=D. Nahh..I think I fit it with the quite science students.

Wait infinity are you waitlisted?

SKR, I got in like 3 weeks ago. When the first batch of admissions that came out.

What are we waiting for? Is there an official "day" of notice. I know how a lot of UCs come out on the 15th, but does ca poly have a date-of-notice? The lack of confidence is really killer...

It says they will notify us by April 1st on college board.

Seriously. I'm hearing by this wed we should hear something, but I don't think I coud handle waiting till april...

we wont wait till april 1st everyone was told that called the admissions office that they were going to be done with decisions by this weekend or early this coming week. They wouldn't hold out. I just think the april 1st is just a time frame in case they encountered problems, also, you have international students that have to send in more documents than we do. I have an international friend at my college who said he wont find out till within the next 20 days.

i think people will hear up until april, but I believe that time frame is for students that are being evaluated vigorously because they might be on the boarder line of admission. I really just want to know if I got in soon, because I have to turn in a portfolio of all my work. I want to know if I have to push that up on my priority list. I'm locked down with classes and Design Village, but I can push stuff back (i.e. MESA report card; don't ask, it's crazy) because some tasks can be pushed back for my portfolio. I'm have a lot of artwork that I still want to produce.

yeah but infinity when i called last friday, the rep that talked to me said that if we dont hear within 7-10 days, 10 days being this wednesday since im going to go off as her meaning business days to call, because we should all hear something regardless of the decision by the 10th day.

3.78 unweighted.

Just a #'s game

irvin, I'm definitely calling if I don't hear anything by wednesday. In previous years I have heard of people getting admitted up 'til april, so I'm just assuming that it might happen this year as well. The admin told me something similar to what was said to you, he said that they are trying to get DONE by early next week. There may be hope that people will be admitted afterward.
