@chloeplef thanks, I got my scores back and I got a 185
I guess it just means that I have to prep and yeah only two kids broke 200 in my school. One kid got a 193 and there were only like 5 other kids in my grade who scored in the 180s, so I guess I did better than most at my grade, but still need to improve. Congrats on your score.

freshman year: 176 58 58 60
sophomore year: 204?: 67 67 70
I calculated it manually and was shaking the entire time

Anyone else here part of the PSAT fandom?

I got a 188: 59 reading, 68 math, 61 writing sophomore year
I just got back my junior score of 226: 68 reading, 80 math, 78 writing
That’s an improvement of 38 points, which would be a 380 point improvement on the SAT! I’m studying to get a perfect score on the SAT.

Sophomore here… Didn’t take the PSAT but I got a 2380 on my SAT’s.

@mrnephew did you prep a lot? That’s an amazing score!

Im like mentally incompetent or smt. My PSAT score only went up from 200 freshman year to 201 this year, and I’ve been studying for the SAT since like 6th grade.

gg no re my whole life

I didn’t know what the SAT was in 6th grade.

Freshman: 185 (I think).
Sophomore: 197 (was actually pretty disappointed).
Junior: 228.

Went up 31 points from my sophomore year, and I didn’t prep intensively or anything, just some regular practice and a few practice tests the weekend before.

Moral of story: your score can dramatically increase sophomore to junior year, and you don’t have to be some sort of genius (I certainly am not).

Unfortunately, for the highest scoring sophomores, the likelihood is that scores will decrease, rather than increase. For students scoring 75 on a section, the average decrease is 2 points. See, e.g., figures 2,3 and 4 in https://research.collegeboard.org/sites/default/files/publications/2012/7/researchnote-2010-41-score-change-2007-psat.pdf

186->233
227 sophomore, 221 junior. Got a little lazy
One of my friends went from a 195 to a 221
I got 194 as a sophomore and 219 as a junior, and I honestly studied more my sophomore year than I did my junior year. In fact I didn’t really study at all my junior year. I think most people improve a substantial amount from their sophomore scores; why, I don’t know, but that seems to be a trend both at my school and on this thread.
sophmore psat: 151
junior sat: 1700
senior sat: 2060
heheh
Sophomore: 168
Junior: 213
Junior SAT: 2160
I think it’s mainly just getting used to the format of the test and familiarizing yourself with it. People do generally improve from sophomore year to junior year and that’s probably due to people improving their knowledge throughout the year and understanding how the test goes
0—I never took the PSAT as a sophomore because I forgot to sign up, haha. I did take it my junior year and received a 231.
Soph: 190s
Junior: 211
It’s no 230, but thank god my state is dumb lol yay
To all future sophomores, improvement can be made! There is some natural improvement, but the rest is up to you.
I just found out my score. Math killed me.
PSAT (sophomore): 177 (60 CR, 49 M, 68 W)
Soph: 165
Junior: 186
Soph: 198
Junior: 218
SAT(Junior): 2310
