So I'm in AP Calc AB and it's horrible. Math is already not my strong subject but my teacher hasn't taught at all for the test. I understand the work he makes up and gives us so I have an A in the class. But then when we do practice AP problems I have no idea what to do. No matter how hard I try I don't understand it. So my question is, if I get a 2 on the test and don't submit it to colleges, what will they think when they see I took the class and did well in it? Will it hurt me? Even if all of my other AP test scores are 4s and 5s? I'm looking into some really top schools.

shouldnt make too much of a difference. dont sent the score to them if you dont feel comfortable.

To my knowledge you report AP Scores yourself, so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’d raise my eyebrows if I saw someone with an A but a 1 or 2 on the exam, however.

But if I don’t send in the score they can’t hold that against me right?

Nothing to worry about. If you don’t send in the score, the school will never know about it. Colleges understand that, sometimes, students don’t take exams well. It won’t hurt you.

I didn’t send my APUSH score bc my teacher sucked too (we only got through half the curriculum). I got an A in the class. Just send in your other scores and as long as a missing AP score doesn’t show any lapses in your overall ability to complete college level work (for ex. You skip sending in your Calc AP score, but score a 700 plus on a math subject test) then that’s fine. Or if math is totally unrelated to what you want to study in undergraduate (for ex. I didn’t bother taking any other history test to show my skills bc I had a decent SAT reading score and I’m majoring in engineering… So, like, what’s the point?) then don’t worry about it at all.

By the way, I’m going to Penn and you can find out where else I got into (for credibility)

No way! Penn is my number one! Thanks for the advice :)
