Which university would you pick: Rutgers or Purdue and why.....

For what major? Rutgers is well-known for Pharmacy and others majors such as Philosophy etc. Purdue is more known for its Engineering program. That said, both are great and you cannot go wrong either way. Select th university that suits your field of study.

THIS IS THE PERFECT QUESTION FOR ME.

I am sitting in Purdue RIGHT NOW. I honestly hate the school with a passion. I am transferring to Rutgers next semester, even though Purdue is overall ranked better. Please go to Rutgers and send me a message if you want to talk more. =]

njindal, maybe you would like to share with us as to what might be some of the not so great qualities you think Purdue has?
As far as I know, Rutgers is ranked above Purdue in most rankings for example ARWU.

collegebiomed, I wasn’t asking in terms of a major but just generally, however if someone might have insight on the school of environmental and biological science that would also be appreciated.

foodscience7, are you a student? cause Purdue is not fun at all. There is nothing to do here. People aren’t that friendly either. Purdue is VERY greek oriented, so if you plan to join a frat/sorority then it may not be that bad. But if you’re not greek, you most likely will not have fun.

Rutgers has NYC close by, Philadelphia close by and in general it is an awesome place.

Ive read alot bout people not liking purdue due to the ‘boring town’, but how about the quality of education?

thnks

It is not good… hence the reason why I am transferring.
