What's a "good" number of SAT II's to take?

I’m a rising senior who is planning to apply to schools like USC (by December 1) and NYU (RD January 1) for a major in communications. I have taken one SAT II so far (USH 750). Should I bother to take any more for these schools? What’s a “good” number of SAT II’s to take anyways? Where I live, nobody really takes SAT II’s, and my teachers don’t know much about them either. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks!

PS - YES I have taken the ACT (30) and SAT (1420). I’m taking the SAT again in October. I’m ONLY here to ask about SAT II’s.

My counselor told me 2-3 is a good number depending on where you are applying. University websites will probably tell you how many they recommend or require.

Two unless you apply to Georgetown which requires 3

Just take two. Seeing that you haven’t taken any, you only have the October, November, and December administrations. Take one after the other then if you think the score(s) is too low, retake in December. I think if you use rush reporting for the December administration, they’ll take it.

@hhjjlala thanks. However, I have turn one already (USH) and got a 750.

@thefloridavegan

Excellent. Focus on the other one. You have three tries to get a 750+ good luck

@thefloridavegan Two is good enough. BTW, I’m taking the US history subject test soon. Since you did so well, do you have any advice on how to prepare (cram books, study plan etc.?)
Good luck!
