i'm asian-american and i applied to michigan in mid-october..since michigan is big on "minority status"...i was wondering if being asian actually works to my disadvantage since a lot of the smart kids (from my school at least) are asian...so does being asian really hurt my changes slightly? or is there no effect whatsoever? or does it help my chances at all? thanks all

for michigan i doubt it would either hurt or help you...for harvard, stanford, and berkeley it would hurt

thanks nirv...anyone else with some insight?

bumpp.....

You won't get any edge as you are not URM. They will just throw you in the normal pile like every one else. Your racial info is only gonna be used as part of their statistical report.
