What's everyones schedule looking like plus tips???

I have 8am’s all 5 days and am used to being a night person: any advice for weekdays and how to handle weekends?

Go to bed a couple hours earlier? Pretty basic.

Would you prefer to have a schedule that started very early (8 am) and ended early (noon) or one that began later (10 or 11am) and ended later (1 or 2pm)? I think finishing very early would be beneficial because then you’d have the whole day to yourself but at the same time, waking up at 8 and sitting through class seems like a pain.

Personally, I prefer to start around 10 and ends around 2. I have a variation of class schedules. I saw that you had shorter classes more often whereas I have longer classes less often. Last semester I was off at 12 Tuesday and Thursday and MW I was done at 2:15. I actually hate the hours of my classes but I have no wiggle room so I’ll have to deal

I haven’t gotten my classes yet, but I’m trying to get a schedule that goes from 9/10 am to no later than 3 pm. I’m stacking them one after another, with about 40 min. for lunch. That way I can sleep in a little bit and still be done somewhat early. I’m avoiding evening classes like the plague lol

How much free time you can build in really depends on the major. In the sciences that’s particularly difficult, since you have a ton of labs to fit in.

Here’s what my schedule looks like. I’m a freshman:

College Algebra MWF 11:00-11:50 AM
English Rhetoric & Composition MWF 1:00 - 1:50 PM
Psychology MWF 2:00-2:50 PM

Educational Theory & Policy TR 12:30-1:45 PM
Intro to Biology TR 2:00 - 3:15 PM

I think starting MWF at 11 and ending at 2:50 is pretty nice. TR starting at 12:30 and ending at 3:15 will be nice as well. I have the afternoons and evenings to study. I’m excited.

Incoming frosh here:
Calc II
Comp Sci II
Honors Seminar
Intro to Economics

I don’t remember the exact times. I know Calc has an 8 am lecture (and it’s my college lecture ever too. mehh). For the most part, my schedule is all over the place. I am done by either noon or 5-ish (except for Mondays, when I have Calc discussion in the late afternoon).

Tip: Actually attend lectures. Heard that this was an issue for some people

I changed my schedule - looks like I can’t take Intro Latin without forfeiting a foreign language credit waiver I got by taking 3+ years in high school; so I had to change it to a different course that resolved the same general ed. It’s on the common tropes of Greek Literature; my schedule shifted around so now my earliest class is at 9 (like it was before) but my latest class ends at 12:15.

Tip:
Go to office hours. Don’t be complacent. Be your own advocate.

Just redid my schedule. Here’s what it looks like now:

MWF

9:00 - 9:50: Molecular Chemistry
10:00 - 10:50: Hero in Literature
11:00 - 11:50: College Algebra I

TR

9:30 - 10:45: Fitness Theory
11:00 - 12:15: English Rhetoric/Composition

I decided to get my three credits of PE/Health out of the way this semester. I also like that I have a lot of time after classes to study and do different things on campus. I’m going to try and not change my schedule anymore. I think I will schedule later classes for the spring semester because I am a commuter, so early mornings could be rough in the winter.

Changed mine too. I decided to take one of the classes for summer 2 instead, so then I had to change everything up for fall because my school doesn’t have many time slot selections.

T/TH
Intro to Anthropology 9-10:15 am
Magic, Witchcraft & Healing 12-1:15 pm
American Indian Religions 1:30-2:45 pm

W
Sign language 3 12-1:50 pm

Online: College Mathematics

I’m looking forward to the witchcraft class. I didn’t know my school had anything like that, and apparently it’s a rare class and not available every semester, so I’m glad I caught that when I was changing my schedule.

Four day weekend! I’m going to try to get some volunteer work in at an archaeology site near by one day a week. I’ve been meaning to for a while, but never had any time.

Current freshman this schedule is for my fall semester what do you guys think? Btw I am majoring in biological engineering. Going to Mississippi State in the Honors college
Honors Calc 2
Chem 2 w/ lab
Bio 1 w/ lab
English 2
Engineering in Life Sciences

Is it common to take three science classes in one semester? That sounds hard.

Went to orientation the other day and got my schedule set, finally.

MWF 9:00 - 9:50 Chemistry for Engineers
M 2:00 - 5:50 Chemistry Lab

My fall sophomore schedule.

In short, Monday is a potential 7 hour block. 4’ish hours of free time break on Tuesday and Thursday.

I think I already posted my schedule somewhere else… but we get our real schedules during orientation which is in August…

General Chem I
General Chem Lab I
Writing
Elementary Chinese I
History of the US
Pre-Calc

For organization, I use a wall, sticky notes, calenders and planners. I literally tape a wall with two pieces for three columns. In each column on the top, I’ll label: Today, Tomorrow and Future. Using sticky notes, I write things that are due and its respected date and place it into the correct category. Every time I come into the room, I look at the wall and whats due for that day, take the note of the wall and get working and so on.

I don’t know If I’ll be able to tape the wall in the dorm or not, but I’ll think of something :). I also carry a planner with me everywhere and keep a calender in the room for academic and personal shtuff. The ugly truth is that you have to stay disciplined, which sucks. I’m always trying new things to keep myself pretty straight and stay on top of things.

I think academic planners/calendar are good. They don’t have to be too expensive either - Target and Wal-Mart sell some really nice ones for $10.

Also, wall calendars for important tests and due dates and white boards to write down your To Do lists.

Tuesday/Thurs:
Calc I
Chem 101
Sociology
Western Art
Spanish 201

Monday:
Chem Lab
Java or C++ Programming

22/23 Credits. I actually thought about throwing on another easy course but I would have to go commute an extra day a week.
