All of the AP sciences our school offers (AP Physics B, Chem, and Bio) are very challenging classes, and I suppose the difficulty is based on your strength in the subject. AP Bio at our school has such frightening tales as 33% on tests, but, for the most part, the AP Bio teacher curves his tests an extreme amount so I don't think its possible to score below a C in that class if you do your homework and don't BS your labs. AP Chem is generally alot looser than Bio. The homework load is quite minimal and the quizzes are of medium difficulty, but you're expected to learn the information yourself or come in during tutorial. AP Chem tests are seldom curved, and when they are, the points you gain are minimal, and it is very possible to do worse than a C. I recall several Net Ionic Quizzes that had averages of 10/20. For the most part however, AP Chem is the easier.

At my school AP chem is killer.
Theres like 11 kids in the class xD

Some of the Bio test is stuff that either you know it or you don't, but if you can interpret data, think logically, and know some basic scientific concepts, then you should be good.

Chem may be harder because of the math involved and you need to know a lot more. But once youre in college, o-chem and biochem involve a lot more of the thinking that you need to be good in science as opposed to the plug-and-chug problems of gen chem, which is a lot of the test.

I suck at chem. Might pull of an A- this semester, though, so I'd be content with that. Can't wait for physics next year.

Chem is harder in every way- you have to memorize just as much (how to solve each different type of ICE problem etc) along w/ what solutions turn what colors in which Ph's, all the damn carbon chains etc.

Bio is just memorizing things- thats not hard- its monotonous- but not hard. For chem you really need to think.

Bio fo sho.

chemistry is a bit harder.

ap bio duhhhhhh

AP Biology was a very interesting class with great topics and a manageable workload.

AP Chemistry is a great class of you like staying up until 4 AM doing stoichiometric conversions, skipping lunch to study in the library, compulsively crying to your pillow night after night, spending $300 dollars on a fancy calculator, being yelled at by your parents, getting busted for cheating on a weekly basis, spending time with your counselor, touring community colleges, breaking your shoulders from a heavy backpack, all to result in getting a D.

AP Chem is 5987874874874847787478438747874884784 times harder.

^^^^^^^^^^
I spend many late nights up for Chem too

Lol now I'm having doubts for choosing AP Bio over Chem :)
I could always switch..... but I'm trying to guess which class will be better for me with 4 AP's next year. :(
Also: took Bio Honors in 9th Chem Honors in 10th

AP Chem by far...

uhm idk im in ap bio right now and its a breeze. my friend is in ap chem and he says its easy too.. so idk

Bio is brute memorization. Whether you're good at that or not basically determines which class is harder.

Bio is about a trillion times more difficult.

Well, I guess it really depends on what type of class you are better at.

In AP Biology, a lot of it was memorization, which I really didn't like.
AP Chemistry has more of a mathematical base and less memorization.

Concept-wise, I guess AP Chemistry is harder to grasp, just because most of it is at a molecular level and not something you can physically see.

Personally, I see AP Chemistry as easier than AP Biology, but our school's general consensus is AP Bio < AP Chem < AP Phys.

I took both bio and chem simultaneously, and the workload for each class really depends on your teacher and the rigor of the curriculum at your school. For me, chem was slightly easier because it involved more math and less memorization, but it was still a lot of work.

I'm taking AP Bio right now and it's pretty stressful but manageable. I suck at all the test though, I can never get anything above an 80 :( but I compensate by labs and different assignments. My school doesn't offer AP Chemistry but are you serious?! I STILL find AP Bio much easier compared to regular level chemistry nevermind AP LOL.

AP Bio is a lot of memorization, but that composes most of it. I say as a class AP Bio may be harder than AP Chem, but when it comes down to the actual AP exam, chem is definitely harder.

I'm a sophomore and am currently in AP Biology and I'm taking AP Chem next year. Personally, I find AP Biology really hard, but that's just me. I'm pretty lazy and I blow off reading. The work in bio, you can get done whenever; The work in chem at my school, you have to get done everytime you have the class. The bio book sickens me, and I pretty much hate the class. AP Biology would be harder in my opinion.
