800 SAT Reasoning Math, 800 Mathematics Level 1, or 800 Mathematics Level 2

Rank them in ascending order, please! =]

As an added incentive, I'll chance anyone who replies to this...just PM me your chance thread!

Least - 800 SAT Reasoning - a lot of people get this, and it test only up to Alg 2
Middle - 800 Math II - a lot of people get this, and the test has an amazing curve
Most - 800 Math I - even on CC, I've never seen anyone with an 800 Math I

Isn't Math Level I the same as the SAT Reasoning Math?

It's probably less commonly seen because people who are good at math generally take Math II...

Math Level 1 covers some additional topics like sequences/series and basic trigonometry.

Least impressive: Math II
Middle: Reasoning Test
Most Impressive: Math 1

same as anhtimmy

Yea I think people don't realize that the reason you get so few math I 800's is that anyone who's good enough at math to get an 800 takes the II's and usually gets 800's on those. It doesn't mean math II's easier... I'm pretty sure by definition its harder. I think the reasoning and I are on the same level.

I say the opposite of anhtimmy.

Math II is hardest and most difficult. More people get it simply because the smarter people take it. Math I is about the same as the reasoning test, but since it is taken alone, it is easier to concentrate on.

Nah, Math Level 1 800s pwn all. There are seriously some questions that require knowledge so abstruse that i would never ever want to have to take it. I have 800s in reasoning math and Level 2, but just based on the curve for Math Level 1 (from what i hear usually -1 is a 800, -2 isnt, etc.), i would never want to place any confidence in my ability to take it.

And Math Level 1 really isnt as easy as many of you think. I took the Math Level 1 practice tests in prep for Math Level 2 (very stupid, trust me, didnt have anything else lol), and i seriously started to freak out when i saw regression questions and weird series questions on it.

So Id say that overall, the typical student's math progression will help them prepare for Level 2 more than Level 1. For this reason solely, Math Level 1 concepts just flies out of your ears, and so is relatively hard to do well on.

I took 2 practice math 1 tests one day when I was bored and I did not miss a single question.

Math II on the other hand, I consistently miss from 1-3 questions. Both are 800s, but I think math I is significantly easier.

It's weird for me; the prep book math 1/2 tests are fairly straightforward (official math guide), but the real exams are much harder. So, while from the prep book I'd say math subjects are easier than reasoning, in reality, I scored much lower on both than I did on reasoning.

Agree with anhtimmy, I did well on the Math II but couldn't do well on the SAT reasoning. I heard Math I's curve is ugly

I am someone who unlike 99.9% of CC who is pretty atrocious at math. ;)
I did practice tests for both Math I and II and just gave up halfway through Math II and decided to just stick w/ I.

So that being said, Math II is probably more difficult in terms of the topics it covers but like someone here earlier said, people taking it are usually good at math to begin with so that already tips the scale. Add on the curve--it seems like it may be easier to get a higher score.

I also wanted to clarify that Math I and the Reasoning aren't the same thing--Math I covers more curriculum-based topics like trig, sequences, etc. I don't feel one was that much more difficult than the other but I guess with Math I's terrible curve, it's more difficult to get a 800.

SAT Reasoning test is the least impressive, because one wrong on Level I or the reasoning test both mean not an 800, but the math is harder on level I. If you're prone to a careless error or two, Math I is more impressive, but the Math II has much more difficult math… or at least Barron's level II does.

I would say
Least: Reasoning
Middle: Level II
Most: Level I - I only know one person with an 800 on this

Knowing only 1 person with an 800 in Math I doesn't make it more impressive. All the people who are any good at math generally take math II. Math I is ridiculously easy and if you are careful enough, it is simple to get an 800.

800 in math 1
it is not as easy as what people think. there are some tricky questions that messes some people up.

^^You also have to take into consideration the various curves for each test.

I did much better on the Reasoning and Math II tests for some reason (780, 760 respectively) and I got a 680 on Math I. The curve on Math II means that anyone who has knowledge of the curve can tell that the 800 wasn't too hard to get. I still think getting all questions right on a test is impressive, so I'd say Math I.

Well, I took Math 1 AND 2 today...

Math2 - straightforward in the beginning, gets exponentially harder; last questions very, very difficult;

Math1 - reasoning math on steroids with more advanced math;

So, my ranking now:

Least - Reasoning
Middle - Math II
Most - Math I

Math 1 is probably the lowest. Some colleges don't even count taking that as a subject test.
