What's the BEST and WORST thing about UC Davis?

What’s the BEST and WORST thing about UC Davis?

i dont go to uc davis but its a small town but most are rich college students. lots of asians. my friend loves to hit up froggys (for ppl over 21).

BEST - People are chill. They don't hate on you.

WORST - I come from San Jose where there are a lot of malls, retail establishments. Davis doesn't even have Target, Wal-Mart, A MALL. I have to go to West Sac.

Ouch. I thought EVERY city had a Wal-mart! lol..

Some of us view the lack of a WalMart as a plus ;)
Target will be opening here soon and that will be chill.

Old Navy as well.

Yay, Old Navy is a good store. The clothes are not that expensive, so that's always a plus for a college student. lol

The malls in Sac are about 12 minutes away by car so my friends and I go hit them up on the weekends when we want to shop. They have everything there. There is also a giant mall in Fairfield about 15 minutes the other way up 80.

yea, if you want shopping, you can go out to west sac, downtown sac, vacaville outlets, fairfield, etc. if you have a car, its only like 15-30 minute drive and sometimes you might run into rush hour traffic.

One of my best friends lives in Fairfield, and another is from Vacaville.

Man, suburbia is redefined there. :p

I concur. Theres not really anything to do here other than parties/sporting events. Most people are alright.

I don't know -- for me that would go into the "best" category.

Why you would want a pos wal-mart is beyond me. A decent Target is as far as I would go, which is good because one is coming soon..

I just asked over in the UCLA forum how close the nearest malls are by car, and the answer was 15 minutes by car with no traffic, LOL...I know the situation is the same at CAL. (15 minutes by car with no traffic) Like in Davis there are lots of local businesses you can walk/bike to in Berkeley. The whole mall thing is no different except at UCI where you are living in the middle of suburbia. I don't know of any nearby malls at UCSD either.

As for Vacaville and Fairfield kinda makes you think of San Bernardino ehh UCLAri?

Hence why I've only been to San Bernadino maybe four or five times in my whole life.

Borders, World Market, RiteAid, Gap, Ground Zero, Pink-a-dot, Savvy, Samira’s, The
Red Dress, Riki, Unique Couture, Watermelon Music to name just some of the places to shop right in Davis….and then there is Sacramento....

Well there's a Jamba Juice right down the street... :) YAY!

"Well there's a Jamba Juice right down the street... YAY!"

Rofl true.

Hey I used to live in LA and now in San Jose where there are Boba/Tapioca joints literally on every street corner. I'm currently addicted to these drinks and need at least 1 every week.

Does Davis have a Boba Tea house?
