no, that's actually one thing you should bring, lots of people will get laid their first week. but alot of groups will pass them out in the first weeks, especially the LGBTQQI and all that people.

Heck my school has Free Condom Wednesday and every Wednesday (if the weather is decent), the student health club sets up a table outside the library and you can take as many condoms as your little heart (errr...uh...??) desires

What does vaporizor do?

Do you need a microwave if your dorm hall has a kitchen?

burning marijuana releases carbon and hurts you when you smoke it, because it's smoke, and hurts your lungs.

a vaporizer heats up the THC so that only THC vaporizes, and releases almost pure THC vapor, with little harmful effects to the lungs and no carcinogens. it saves you money because one bowl will get you blitzed well enough for a night.

You put the marijuana in the vaporizer? Won't your whole dorm smell like weed? What if your roommate does not want to have weed in their system?

In my dorm, the only communal kitchen is 2 floors down, and I'm too lazy to be walking down there to heat up popcorn at 2am. It's nice to have in the room, but we are provided with a microfridge.

Look on the "A-Z..." list, paste the things that apply to you into Word. Leave it for a few days, then add things that aren't there when you think of them. I spent about 2 weeks just updating my list once or twice a week, and I didn't forget any ANY essentials. Be sure to check everything as it is packed in bags and boxes to go in the car or to be picked up by UPS, that way you can know what could have been forgotten. However, there will be things that you don't even realize you will need until you see your room and get the furniture and all the other space killers (like hampers and the fridge) in place.

if your room-mate doesn't want weed in their system...they don't have to smoke...

tips on preventing smell: fan, open windows, disconnect/disable/tape up your smoke detector. also, towel under the door, common sense kid. silly noobs.
also, vapes don't cause that much smell, because it's not burning, it's being turned into vapor.

I'd have my rommie thrown out of the room for that. I'd hide her keys and not let her in when she was banging on the door. I wouldn't put up with that s**t for one second.

And weed would still get in your system, even if it's vaporized. People who live with cigarette smokers are at risk for cancer and other problems due to inhaling 2nd hand smoke, even if they don't smoke themselves. It's the same thing.

^^^yah, it's REALLY hard to get contact high unless you fishbowl, or go to a reggae festival. you'll still smell it and be annoyed. but people won't be blatantly blazing in your room if you ask them not to. be polite frostburg, people who smoke cannabis are ordinary, kind, regular citizens who aren't doing anything worse than drinking. it's all about communication.

Mom here...looking past some of these posts, I think the posted question has merit...here is one from me...Did you bring your computer/notebook-or-did you buy it when you arrived at the campus?..We live about 3000 miles away from the college, and would have to have it shipped.

get a good backpack, and take the laptop with you on the plane, it's not a big deal, just carry it on board. either that or buy it when you get to school, but if you get it in the summer you can familiarize yourself with it.

APOL - a lot of times schools run deals on laptops for students through their bookstore. Laptops and what software is needed will probably be discussed at orientation. Close to the start of school, I would check the university's book store website to see what software and laptops are offered and for what price (i.e. my school gives out free anti-virus software - $40 value - and breaks on Dell laptops). If any of the bookstore laptops meet your kids' needs, wait until he/she arrives to purchase it. If you or your kid is looking for something different, keep in mind what freebie software you get through the school, and have it shipped sans those programs.

And although that was a valid question, let's leave the laptop debate in APOL's PM box and outta this thread. Because I've seen what can happen here on CC. And it scares me.

Should I be concerned that if we wait to purchase the computer/laptop until student orientation, that they will run out of inventory?..and if we bring one...how do I get a list of the free software ahead ot time?..thank you!

I still don't understand this vaporizor thing... did who ever suggest it really mean to bring it for drugs? At first I was thinking "Wouldn't that make the room humid and hotter? So what's the fan for?"

I don't really understand how you can get high from marijuana vapor. And wouldn't it take a long time? Why don't you just eat it?

Also, won't all this take up space? Fan, microwave, fridge, vaporizer...

No. They also sell space-time continuum space savers. You can store all this junk in a void.

APOL - probably varies by school. Mine doesn't even have the deals for the next school year up yet. You can e-mail the bookstore and/or tech people and/or the university's general e-mail with your questions to get a better answer. Sorry :/.

"What's the ONE thing you forgot to bring to college that you really wished you had?"

my brain /:

jaded you are seriously making my day. THC vapors will get you really high, because it's efficient and doesn't destroy the psychoactive ingredients like burning pot does, so you inhale more THC per hit, and get super high. lol and yah it takes up space, but you'll need a microwave and a fridge and what not. vaporizers aren't big dood.

Confidence with the opposite sex.

A couple thousand greenbacks.

posters.
I had to buy some once I got there, and they weren't as good.
