What's the weirdest thing you've received from a college?

Highlandmom ^^ I got that too haha. Two actually, one addressed to my first name and one addressed to my middle name?

I never got any office supplies...just a viewbook in the shape of a kilt, complete with a paper hanger and everything. Though it did get a bit squished in my mailbox, lol. I don't remember who it was from, I think either Macalester or Carleton?

I have no idea which college this was from, but a few months ago I received a postcard that had my name spelled out in clouds. I was slightly creeped out.

spazzity- carnegie mellon :) i got it too.

yesterday i got a copy of a dorm buildings newspaper from cabrini yesterday

A couple years ago when I was applying, I got a pen from U South Carolina that had a little ball in it and a maze and you had to try to get it from one end to the other--I had way too much fun with that. They also sent me a luggage tag, which is weird because I live literally 15-20 minutes away. A poster from Agnes Scott (they sent me soooo much crap) and another from Duke. Several copies of the same DVD from Clemson (which I never watched). Also several huge course catalogs from various schools.

Esgee--I got that poster from Richmond UK too. Not considering them, but it's a gorgeous picture haha.

and I got those postits from A&M haha.. I'm trying to think of other things. I know that I've gotten so many huge booklets. Poster from Duke about 101 Reasons to go there (but I'm a Tar Heel girl so it didn't sway me haha) Handwritten birthday card with Harry Truman on the front from Truman State. I think I might have gotten a christmas card too from them.

Oh and I got a $50 iTunes giftcard for visiting a school :) plus a free tshirt.

I got the WashU course guide.
I also got a postcard with my name written in sand and one with my name written in chemical spills. I thought this was really cool, so even though I have no intention of applying, I saved it.
I probably got a lot of other random stuff, but I threw most of it out.

Ooh, I'm disappointed...I never got a Mount Holyoke journal. :(

Antioch College sent me a t-shirt, size small, and pink. I'm a large and wouldn't be caught dead in that color, so that plan kinda backfired on their part. Way to stereotype based on sex, Antioch! No wonder you ran into problems...

Handwritten notes from Russell Sage College, Texas A&M post-its, a DVD from Swarthmore, the Carnegie Mellon kilt/hanger book, and this really cool paper airplane thing from the engineering department of a school.. don't remember where from, but the plane was amazing.

I got that WUSTL thing too. It's honestly the most wasteful thing I've ever seen. It made me question my desire to go to a school that claims to be an elite, intellectual school but wastes money and needlessly hurts the environment by sending out thousands of gigantic novels to peole who may or may not apply. Just stupid...

^^ Purdue sent the paper airplane.

Nothing super exciting. Mostly stuff that has already been said. Ole Miss sent HUGE brochures though.

swarthmore dvd
olin's crazy metallic envelopes
carnegie mellon kilt
texas a & m post-its
etc.

I'll admit, I got wicked excited when that kilt thing came from Carnegie Melon because all our other mail was wrapped up inside, which made it look really fat, and I thought it was a real kilt. And I thought that was really cool.

Yeah, I'm kinda pathetic.

Hartwick- T-shirt mailed in a package the size of an index card

St. Louis College of Pharmacy- mailed me a info page in a big pill bottle

Indiana University sent me a postcard with a picture of a decidedly creepy-looking guy saying, "[My first name], there is life beyond [my full address.]"

Creeper guy + he knows my name! + he knows my ADDRESS! = AAAAAH!

ansar!! i got that too LOL! and i put it on my frige, hahaha

OO, also, MIT sent me a brochure, reviving my hope to apply =[ but then i checked CC MIT stats, 2300 get rejected ... i didn't want to apply anymore =S

i got a handwritten christmas card,
despite the fact that i don't celebrate christmas.

do these gifts/letters increase your chances of being admitted? Just curious =)

Bates couse booklet. SUPER thick.
Mt. Holyoke notebook.
Smith cd.
