When are ED decisions sent out?

i guess that means they will complete making the decisions by dec 6.

You'll know when that day comes. =D

There's no point knowing too early, because perhaps ignorance is bliss ;)

For the "check your application status" page on the website, what did the site show you?

For mine it only had four words, "Your application is complete."

"It is currently not possible to view your checklist. The checklists will be available to applicants as follows:

Early Decision applicants: November 14, 2006 to December 6, 2006.

Regular Decision applicants: February 5, 2007 to March 10, 2007.

Applicants deferred from Early Decision to Regular Decision: January 8, 2007 to March 10, 2007"

Hey, I just checked my checklist, too. Got exactly the same as flyersgirl818!!!! I'm biting my nailsssssss

you guys should stop worrying much about this. The above ^^ explanation only implies is that they have INDEED made their decisions by now.. As they are ofcourse no longer receiving any more updates to any ones application.... So, prior to this... if anything was still missing, well.......

The mails would obviously be sent anytime from next week. As they still have to package the mail with stuff like fin aid, and college handbooks.

My only speculation is that international mails are already on their way...so that internationals (like me) would still get their decisions sometime closer to the 15th....

Not exactly. The acceptee from the Class of 2006 at my school got a FedEx package from Pton, and it was postmarked the 12th, he received it on the 14th. It only takes a day or two for courier mail.

oh but thats quite unfair...

The internationals who dont get their decisions at ~ 14th - 16th. would already know their fate....hmmph :(

Why would they start evaluating the deferrees before the RDs?
Isn't the whole point to compare them?

i thought someone had called and was told all mails will be the regular ones, that is, no courier ones...

I believe it's because Princeton deferred some applicants in order to see what their grades would be before making their decision. Also, they've already got all the information from the EDers in one place, whereas they would be still opening and sorting the mail from RDers come January 8th. I imagine the sheer number of applications would push the admissions officers to start as early as possible.

omgsh so today THEY already know who is accepted/deferred/denied but we still have to wait 8-9 more days...:(

thats what i thought too helen... ah well...

Okay, so i'm international, is this the picture for me? The mail will be sent by fedex around the 10-12 of december and i will find out by 14-15 of december?

yea thats only if we were accepted....yea it sucks. Cuz if we were not....we would get ours by the end of december...lol

If y'all aren't accepted then you get your decision later?
Why is that?

I have no idea... omz. i think it would be very unfair to know my decision before it comes....

I think because rejection letters are snail mails, while FedEx would only be used for "good news". sigh So this means if don't get any mails after "mid December" I'll know I'm out.

Man!! Why wouldn't they just notify us by email? It would be both faster and safer.

So let me get this straight:
Rejection letters = snail mail, "good news" = FedEx?

And for envelope size:
Are rejection letters/envelopes the same size as "good news", or are "good news" still larger?

"Rejection letters = snail mail, "good news" = FedEx"

==> Yes, traditionally it's like that!

About the envelope size, I think it depends. Usually "good news" are larger and you can tell right when you receive it from the postman. However, sometimes schools like to make you breathe harder (lol) by sending you (by FedEx maybe) the small envelopes with just "congratulations" inside.

So, let's just hope we get our news "early"! Good luck everybody!
