??(10 char)

Just heard a couple of days ago by email.

ugh, I guess I'm going to have to speak to my counselor.

S also got an email a few days ago.

i'm wondering that as well....I've filled out the FFAA, and I'm pretty sure that the transcripts are electronically submitted, right?

is there anything else that needs to be done?

Perhaps the people who were already notified were fully qualified for the scholarship already. You may need to complete your final course work, community service or last test scores before you have all the criteria met for the award.

I know that D qualifies, but no email yet.

Those who have heard: are you on block scheduling and did you complete your last basic requirement (ie English IV) with a fall block? I know that we are on block scheduling, but D has English IV now, so technically she won't have qualified for Bright Futures until her final grade is in.

Or maybe they are going out in batches.

Here is an interesting finding, on the Bright Futures Page it does day that D was sent an email on 3/17 and 3/19, and her email address is correct, but she did not receive it and we can't find it in her spam folder either.

Her page reads 3/19/2008, LTCHKSTAT100032, Student check status letter, E (for email) and 3/17/2008, 7IEELIG/M, INITIAL FMS AWARD LETTER MID-YEAR E (for email.) Guess AOL filters got to them? So what did the letters of 3/17 and 3/19 say??

Just bumping up. Can anyone with an email share what it said? Thanks

hmm my s didn't get an email either--will have to check as well.

Florida Student Scholarship & Grant Programs

If you go here, click on application status and award history, have your student sign in (you can click to get ID and Password if you don't have it) and go to awards. Scroll down and see the list of communications. If it shows you were sent and email on your BF status on 3/17 and you did not get it, or if it shows you were sent an email on 3/19 about signing on to check your status and you did not get that one, email them at OSFA@FLDOE.org and tell them you did not receive it. They will send you a hard copy of your letter THIS ONE TIME. But I think they need to hear that some students are not getting their emails--filters I guess. Ours was not even in the spam folder.

I emailed and did get a response back that D should add them to her address book, and that they would send a hard copy this one time.

E

that's all mine says.nothing about anything being sent anything on 3/17 or 3/19

hey, so i got my email :]

it basically said that i was awarded the medallion scholarship, and then explained what it covered and stuff. it was pretty simple and straightforward.

hope everyone gets what they're looking for soon!

Thanks livelovelaugh. Tomatoking, your school might not have electronically sent the 7th semester grades etc. When you check the website, if nothing is needed or missing on your part, just check with your school. Some schools have not sent info, and some have not been processed yet. They JUST started sending emails about eligibility.

Checked our son's award status and his award was listed as well as several dates of emails that he did not get. Called 888-827-2004. They said that if the emails did not go they are sending physical letters out. Very helpful on phone so you may try that if not getting emails.

I know when I went through this last year it took me longer to find out than people I knew at other schools, and even at my school. And they also e-mailed me before my second notification during the summer that they didn't have my final transcript in...I had issues with my transcript being sent to FSU too...so from my experience, I recommend talking to your guidance councilor/college councilor/ whoever is in charge of these things at your school, and see if they can tell you if you did/didn't get the Bright Futures (they keep it on record) and maybe even ask if they can send another transcript in if there is a lack of information on their end.
