When colleges ask for my further information to high school office, is this usually a good sign?

I would think so. If the college had written you off, it wouldn’t bother to follow up with your HS. Good luck!

Like so much in college admissions, it depends. This time of year - we are getting those calls. Typically, the college wants more grades. This means you are on the edge - is it the edge between accept and waitlist? Is it the edge between waitlist and reject? That we don’t know. We know you are on the edge, we just don’t know which one!

@youdon’tsay: thanks! @rockvillemom: really? but I doubt they can get any more ‘grades’ from me, since I already submitted my mid-year report and I don’t have any update on my grades this semester. My councilor said it is a ‘good’ thing, so I would stick with his nice comment! but thanks for the info!

Our school is on trimesters. We automatically send first trimster grades to colleges in December. At this time of year, colleges call if they want 2nd trimester grades - that was what I was referring to above.

It’s a good sign.

@glido: thanks! Do you know what they would typically ask to the school? @rockvillemon: Oh i see. My school works in semesters, so… It would be weird if my school had to send my 8th semester grade, since I only have one subject with grade right now…math…39%…

I think that that action serves as a benefactor.
