Harvard asking guidance for my current grades

Hello folks. I applied early action to Harvard, and am of course overly anxious about any possible indication of admissions results. A Harvard admissions officer emailed my guidance counselor once during the weekend and once on Monday, because my GC didn't respond. Admissions was asking to see my current semester grades as soon as possible. What does this mean? I know it's not standard for colleges to do this (at least, I think I know- ).

And, to answer potential questions, I currently have all A's in 3 Ap's and Chinese IV (we have semster block scheduling). I'm not worried about my score report harming me (necessarily), I'm just a tad bit confused.

Thank ya'll for any potential insight, and I hope ya'll have luck with your own college endeavors. Lord knows I'm nervous, and need all the luck I can get.

Obviously it means that Harvard is seriously considering your application.

What Axelrod said. Def a good sign. Good luck!

Thanks fellas. I want to be clear that I wasnt trying to be coyly self congratulatory (which is what CC tends to inspire in folks, and is what one always runs the risk of sounding like on here). I’ve heard very mixed impressions from various people, so I just wanted to ask for (admittedly non-expert: rule of averages, right?) advice so I can better assess how positively freaked out I should be. My GC’s have no clue- H-word (saying the name feels taboo) applicants are rare at my school.

ya, they just probably want to make sure you can handle your current workload/are keeping up with your potential. since you’re doing well, it should confirm the academic part of your applications… though it’s not a guarantee, as you probably know. Good luck mate!

I was accepted. Best day of my life. Thank ya’ll so much for the help

So pleased for you. Congratulations!
