<p>i've applied to like 10 schools and i've already heard back from 2 of them. do the lower tiered schools let you know first and then do all the top tier schools let you know of their decisions in april? i'm confused.</p>
<p>There is no one standard date that all college decisions are sent. They do it on their own schedule. However, if you applied RD by their deadline, colleges will notify applicants by April 1st (allow a few days after if sent by mail). </p>
<p>Sometimes schools will notify their top applicants earlier than the rest of the applicant pool (early writes). Or they will send the applicant a likely letter.</p>
<p>Look at last years postings in the individual college forums to get an idea of when to expect notification.</p>
