When do I find out about merit aid?

Hey I received my acceptance letter in the mail about two weeks or so and today I received my official invitation to the honors college, so when do I find out about any merit aid I may have earned? Thanks

They will send you a letter if you are selected for a scholarship usually within 2-4 weeks of the acceptance letter. If you have read the previous threads, they may be doing things differently this year and stretching out the time frame for scholarship consideration.

Aghh, I’m going completely insane. I’ve been going to my mailbox daily to check for the merit scholarship letter, but it’s yet to come. I got my acceptance to the university proper about 2 weeks ago, and my honors college invitation about a week ago… I guess I’ll just keep twiddling my thumbs here.

We got our Scholarship letter today about 2 weeks after the acceptance letter. I was surprised since when I had emailed them last week they led me to believe I wouldn’t be hearing until early next year.

Donna Mom,

Was it in a big envelope that said academic portfolio or something like that on the outside?? I just called my husband at home because we are in NY State also and something like that arrived today. He is at home working but we can’t open it until our daughter gets home later! It’s driving me crazy!

It was a big envelope return address was Univ of Pitt Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. Nothing else on the cover. Was thin though, only 3 sheets inside.

The beginning of the letter showed through the window of the envelope. Started Every year at the University of Pittsburgh…

Our deal is we have to wait for him to open acceptance letters. Money letters I feel free to open LOL.

Good luck!

saf --The big envelope with “Academic Portfolio” on it is not merit aid. D2 got that envelope a few weeks ago. It contains info on the particular major / requirements.

Sorry! (At least you know it’s no big deal to wait until D is home to open her mail)

Thank you both. At least I can relax a bit now if I know it’s a different thing that has arrived. ha ha. This waiting is hard though.
