Don't give up hope: I got my acceptance today [OOS female] :)

Congratulations! :)

Just curious, what state do you live in?

inchoative: I thought the Monroe Scholars get priority registration each semester..? That's what I heard anyway. I suppose I'll have to do more research.

And don't be discouraged, fellow OOS females!

Rhapsody: Thanks, and I'm in Georgia

No, Monroe Scholars get to register before the other Freshmen for their very first semester, but that is it. Again, all this means is that they get to register before the other incoming Freshmen, so still after Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores.

Monroe Scholars do not get priority registration other than that first semester. I am a Monroe Scholar and I do not get priority registration.

Im confused, which scholar are you if you get full tuition and fees for four years?

I feel dread looming over my shoulder... I have to admit I don't really like this feeling of watching the Facebook statuses with "so and so got accepted into W&M!!"

Waiting game is such a nervewracking thing to go through eek.

othehoomanity, the full tuition and fees for four years are the WM Scholars. I started a thread about it because I got it and wasn't really well-informed about it.

Yea, i just got it too, but i couldnt find anything about it on the website and i was really confused. thanks though and congradulation!

Just a "normal" acceptance rather than a Monroe? Is that correct?

I'm in NoVA, btw.

inchoative, do you live in Monroe Hall??

No, I am not a Freshman. I did last year, however.

Just wondering...my daughter lives there and loves it...

I was just looking at a thread from last year, and RD acceptance letters started arriving on 3/21 (and 3/19 the year before). Does this mean letters could go out next week? I may have a heart attack.

Haha, you're not the only one! x)

Rhapsody, weren't you the one who got the postcard? I'm shocked you didn't get a Monroe letter.

Yeah, that was me.

Maybe Wendy's (the woman who is in charge of my region) just a friendly dean of admissions who likes to send out the occasional postcard to an applicant she likes? Someone else in my thread posted that they had received a similar postcard, and she lives in my region too, if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe, hopefully, I'll get one tomorrow. Ultimately, I just hope I get in, but obviously being a Monroe Scholar would be a nice perk!

Thought I would share this info with you all...maybe it is a sign they are getting ready to start informing RD kids.

My S applied to WM last fall as a RD applicant, but withdrew his app (by email to the admiss office) back in early January when he was admitted to VT early decision. He hadn't heard a word from W + M until this morning when we got an email saying they appreciated him notifying them of the request to withdraw his application, best wishes, etc. Hopefully it is a sign that everyone waiting will hear soon. Good luck to all of you!

Ok, so I admit I didn't read this entire thread, but where these acceptance letters sent out to only the top students, or just random qualified applicants? In other words, what does the lack of an acceptance letter at this point in time mean for an applicant???
