I just wanted to know when transfer students would hear back from admissions?

For UW Seattle.

This question has been asked an answered a few times, including on their website. We’ll get our decisions June/ July.

May/June for Summer, possibly slightly earlier

For Autumn, would it still be May to June?

The wait is killing me. Especially after seeing all the excitement from the freshman admissions! What are your guys’ stats?

I called the admissions office and they said late april, early may.

Last year, the first batch of rejections were at end of May and the first batch of acceptances were June 9/10.

mandymandy, that’s good. I’d rather be turned down early than be waiting in agony just for a rejection letter. (I don’t expect to get in.) Yet, I think I’ll get my hopes up now if I don’t hear by June.

can anyone please tell me that for autumn 2011 when will the transfer students hear back ?..thanks

May-June?? Well, that’s just great…

Most colleges require that you pay a tuition deposit by early May to secure your spot. If decisions go out in late May-early June, I’m going to have to pay $200 to a college I may not even end up going to before hearing back from UW.

I was accepted to a school with roughly the same number of students as UW in March (I applied mid January). What exactly takes UW so long…?

what stats do you guys have, anyone else transferring from an in-state 4 year?

speakingez,
The FIRST batch of rejection/acceptance was from late May to Mid June last year (as well as 2009), but some people actually got the result later. The FIRST batch of acceptance must be those who have high GPA, strong essay, finished all the prerequisites for an intended major. Usually, the FIRST batch of rejection are those who havent finished the college academic distribution requirements. It’s likely that UW may give you summer quarter to make up the requirements.

i have all my major reqs done, however, a lot less on gen eds, is this good or bad?

are you transferring from a 4-year university??? UW has an agreement with CCs that at least 30% of the acceptances will be from Washington CCs.

What you’ve taken in high school will count on the gen eds as well, not just what you’ve finished in ur current school

4 year university, 3.85 GPA, all major reqs done

i have actually pretty good gen eds, but just all the major reqs filled. i’m a jew, wrote that in essay

I think you should be fine. :)

Crap, your grades are well off. My cumulative GPA isn’t that great. Somewhere in the 3.3 ish range. We’ll have to see about Spring quarter and Summer. Transferring from a Washington with my AA completed( 90 transferable credits) and classes intended for my major completed as well. I think my essay was pretty good and I explained myself well enough.

I don’t know if they care or not, but is it good when you show lots of improvement?

Crossing my fingers.

was there a positive grand trend, did you get better later on in CC? if no grade trend at least not negative… my problem is my SAT and ACT = garbage, but hopefully they dont care anymore…

3.3 from a CC I think you can get in

i have a friend that graduated cc with a 3.4 and got rejected 4x to uw seattle. He finally applied and got into uw bothell (which is much easier to get into). UW looks at alot of factors when deciding so it’s possible they didn’t like something else shrug

i transferred from a cc with a 3.92 gpa

i have been checking my application status since i applied to UW. i used to check my financial aid status because i heard if they accept me then my student ID would be there. it was like 0000000 before. but today when i checked i didnt see it there anymore and there is a message saying>>

Action required

Message
The University of Washington’s Office of Student Financial Aid does not have a record of your application for the year indicated.

Please check the year for which you are making an inquiry. Generally, students should expect to wait anywhere from two to five weeks from the time of application, to the time that application information is available though this system

i didnt apply for financial aid yet. so i just applied today. does that message mean anything about me being accepted or anything like that ? just curious.lol…thanks
