<p>I don't think you do. I believe that incoming students have to apply for housing by listing their top 6 choices of dorms/buildings and you are assigned one of those.</p>

<p>the early decision kids get first choice, then the RD kids. They'll send you info to set up an NYU account and the building request form is online. You prioritize them. No say on whether you want a single, double, triple or an option to request any specific room. (You can specify a roomate though)</p>

<p>you wont know until august unless you are in explorations. youll rank the dorms in preference order and submit it by... well last year it was may 31st i dunno about this year.... for Reg decision at least.</p>

<p>Nickel, there really is no one dorm that is better for a student in GSP. People who are in GSP really don't recognize themselves as a group; they are just a part of the general student population. Whatever dorm you choose will most likely have an even distribution of GSP and regular students.</p>

<p>Oh, alright. Well I'll also say that there are no really GSP-specific places for classes, butttttt if you want a dorm that's uber close to campus, go with Weinstein or Goddard (though I would probably go Weinstein). They are smaller rooms, but awesome dining and REALLY close to any class.</p>

<p>Is the app for explorations on the same housing form as the application for regular housing? I called in to ask but the answer I got just confused me a little more (:
^ "You should have the form online, and it has nothing to do with the $800 deposit", "Explorations is later; we made all the packages last week and are mailing them out; you should be getting your stuff end of April, beginning of May."</p>
