When does UCF begin notification of admissions decisions for summer/fall 2008?

Hmm... I didn't get an envelope today. I wonder why...

Does anybody know how come I have not received an acceptance letter? Online it says I'm in. I'm a little worried now...

I wouldn't worry. It will probably be in Monday's mail. The postmark on my daughter's envelope said Sept. 19. Sometimes snail mail goes at a snails pace. If it dosen't arrive on Monday, you could always call UCF admissions and ask about it.

All right, thanks. I can't wait to get the letter. It looks good online, but the letter means its the real deal.

Does anybody know how we access the myUCF page? Do they send you the login info via e-mail?

To access the application status section on the myUCF page you first go here:

https://my.ucf.edu/static_support/pidnidwrapper.html
and put in your information. Then you will be assigned a PID and NID (you can later change the default NID).

I don't think you can do any of this before you have submitted an application though.

Hey, I just checked my status on the myUCF website, and I got the "Congratulations! You have been offered admission to UCF for the Fall 2008 term." But, I don't understand how that is possible, because I just turned in my counselor request last Monday. They do not have my official transcripts or my counselor rec yet. Has this happened for anyone else?

Maybe your counselor turned it around very fast (completed the rec and sent it with the transcript right away)? Wow, that is quick. My friends son has been waiting for his decision since August! Congratulations anyhow!

Lostinit:

I know the turn around was very quick for my son, as well. One thing I remember the counselor telling us is that they were able to do everything on-line with UCF, so maybe that's why things happened so quickly?

zebes

I have been reading all of your posts for quite a while, great information. We found out today that my son was admitted to UCF for the summer term (that is what he applied for). It was very quick, one week. He is excited but still waiting to hear from another school. Thanks for sharing all of your experiences and best of luck to everyone.

UCF finally received my transcript yesterday... and today I've been accepted online for the Fall 2008 term! Can't wait to get my first official acceptance in the mail!

Congrads, I had heard that they can turn it around in a day if there aren't any issues with the applicant.

Congrads Yau and welcome to the UCF family.

ACCEPTED!
feels good this early

I only know of one kid, a boy, who got deferred so far. He is deferred for first semester grades (his ACT was fine). I know of two boys who still haven't gotten any decision, even though their files have been complete since the beginning of September. Weird.

Ok, I just heard that a friend's son got rejected yesterday (for Fall) with a 3.2 GPA and a 1140 SAT. Another boy, one of the two that I mentioned in post #55 (who hadn't received his decision yet) was deferred (he applied for Summer) for test scores (so he has to retake the SAT/ACT). The second boy that hadn't heard yet became worried (since he had applied for Fall) and changed his application for summer admission. Now he has to wait another 2- 4 weeks for a decision. This is going to be a very competitive admissions year!

Seiclan, I didn't think it made a difference as if you apply for Fall, they also consider you for Summer. I was a bit surprised to hear of a rejection, normally they if you don't meet the fall criteria they just defer to later in the year when additional data would be aval and then decide. Sounds like a different process this year.

I just got deferred from UCF and I'm really hoping they're playing some kind of sick joke on me. Because I have a 3.6 GPA and a 1200. (590 math, 610 verbal)

WOW. I am so sorry cj! I believe that UCF is realizing that it has a much stronger applicant pool this year and as such is deferring more applicants. Altlhough I believe you should not have been deferred at all, if I were you I would call the admission's office and find out why you were deferred (and what you can do to change the deferral into an acceptance). The two kids that I know that are deferred, were deferred for different reasons (one for test scores and on the other they want to see his first semester grades (in January). Call you hs guidance counselor for guidance.

I know how you are feeling. My son was rejected from UF last year. 1440 M/V and 3.8 (UF weighted) gpa. It felt like a punch to the stomach, and that there must be some kind of mistake. There's no rhyme or reason to all this, sometimes. So I sympathize. a LOT

I hope that the deferral turns into an acceptance, as soon as possible.

I do think things work out, and happen for a reason. My son who was rejected from UF is extremely happy where he is, and there are a lot of positives specific to his situation that make it the best thing for him, after all.

The best of luck to you.
