When does USC start sending out acceptance letters?

I sent mine in at 11 pm pacific time on December 1. The problem was though (and I didn't previously realize) that is 2 am eastern time. Anyway, I'm hoping my application is still considered for a merit scolarship. Regardless, I really want to go there and have been chomping at the bit to find out. Do you know about when the accptance (hopefully!) letters are sent out? Thanks!

Hi. I applied also to USC for the Merit Scholarship Deadline. I think you should be fine, as far as the deadline is concerned, because I think the Common App runs on EST time. If your application has been submitted and downloaded USC has recieved it and is probably reviewing it. I think decisions are given out April 1st.

Bummer. I was worried that’d be the case. According to est, mine was late because it came in as 2 am December 2…

The Common Application records everything as Eastern Time, but USC is in California and uses Pacific time for their deadline, so applications submitted by 2:59am EST December 2nd are on-time applications for the scholarship deadline.

In years past, the first admissions were those being considered for the Trustee and Presidential Scholarships which arrived around the last week of January and the first week of February. These decisions accounted for only 2 - 3% of the total applications. The bulk of the decisions will arrive in mid to late March, and there are many, many other scholarships that will be awarded to those who applied by the scholarship deadline and who do not hear until March.

Good luck!
