When everyone is out partying, I would rather be doing something productive

Okay, my mistake. I guess I wasn’t sure if you were replying to me or others and I obviously assumed the first.

My apologies.

Wiscongene: So… I let a girlfriend talk me into going to a rave over spring break, and it was the worst experience of my life. I cannot in any way understand why she or anyone else would enjoy it.

Raves are like condensed parties, and I now totally see where you are coming from in disliking the “party mentality.” In fact, though I try very hard not to be judgmental, I found it very difficult not to judge many of the people at this rave. I’d rather sit at home being a judgmental curmudgeon than ever again go to a place like that, and I’m pretty sure we’re not alone there.

Forget social drinkers: people who go for LSD and E must be completely idiotic.

What makes them idiotic? The fact that you think you’re better than them or all the people that die from them? sarcasm: irresponsible drug users kill themselves, not drugs.

It’s immoral and stupid to kill others. Ceteris paribus, it’s just plain stupid to kill yourself.

So criticize the people committing suicide, not the ones experimenting with substances

Look, if you can go out and drink and it doesn’t interfere with your life, you’re golden. That’s excellent for you. I have met very few people engaged in what I am referring to as the general “party culture” who do not also fall into a category of people who I don’t like, and it’s not because they are active, social, or even because they are drinkers, but because they are superficial and egotistical.

If that’s not you, then you have my sincerest apologies. But I just get that vibe that you are that sort of person, judging by your seemingly visceral hatred of video games and your consistent usage of “geed” to refer to me.

No, I am not opposed to social interaction. In fact, it was not so long ago that I encountered another human being and engaged them in what I have since learned is called a “conversation” (I’m learning more every day!) and I daresay the experience was a pleasant one.

But lo be to the one who is so daft as engage in mindless activities for the sake of exclusivity and an imagined self-importance, for this person, truly, has my pity…

I totally get you. I hate it when people are like, “f*** school let’s get WASSSSTEEDDD.” I understand it when people are stressed and they’re sick of school, but when ALL someone wants to do is to party & drink and not do anything in life, it’s kind of sad.

That’s true. Everything in moderation. Don’t have your life revolve around drinking. I realized I need to get a life a few weeks ago when one of my roomies came down and said “hey let’s do something.” After some brainstorming the only “something” we could come up with was getting drunk. lol
