Hi Current Rice students ~ We are considering arranging another Rice visit. Our school break week is about the time of Owl weekend and we have a much needed vacation away from college decisions planned. If we were to try and visit another time how late would it be possible in the year. School isn't over until 3rd wk of June and AP's are thr first 2 weeks of May. We had a short but good visit this fall but before he makes a choice would it be helpful to visit again? We live in Upstate NY and it isn't a quick visit. Thanks!

Last day of classes is April 29, so you should come by at least then. Your decision is due May 1 anyways, right.

Wow- school's out by april 29th? When do they close the dorms for the summer?

Thanks for the info...we will have to see if we can work it in....JM

I think that finals end around May 11 with graduation on May 14. We ended up visiting last year in June after my son graduated. It happened to be the day of President Reagan's funeral, so many buildings were closed, however, we still did get a tour. He had already accepted, site unseen, so we were just relieved that he loved the campus when he saw it.

Classes end on April 29th this year. There will be plenty of students on campus through graduation on the 14th of May. If your owl wants to stay on campus I think you can still set up an overnight through the admissions office. The last week of classes is pretty busy, so if you come then just realize that you are seeing Rice students heading into the finals frenzy. :)

You can visit during the summer too, if you decide to come and want to get a look at the place before moving in. It will be hot, so be prepared.
