I am taking the ACT in September and the SAT in October so I do not know when I should submit my application. Should I wait until those scores are sent to the schools or should I just submit my application now? If I submit it now will they still get my new testing scores?

By their deadline. Some schools even let you send the test score later: Northwestern app is due January, but the latest test you can take is the January one and submit it after you get the scores (clearly after deadline).

Yes, you can send scores after you submit your app. Yes, they will.

You can submit your application with your current scores and then send them the new ones later, that’s not a problem. Usually the schools will require you to have the testing agencies send them the scores directly anyway. You just need to update your application with the new scores with the school, but keep in mind that every school will have a different deadline for accepting test scores, so be sure to check with the school to find out when the last test date they’ll honor.

Does this also apply to early admissions as well?

^ Most likely. I can’t speak for all schools but I know NU does. Check their site[s].

So I should just submit the applications now then and just have my scores sent as soon as they’re ready?

Its up to you. You’ll get your scores before deadlines are due, but if you want to submit them early, go ahead. However, I was filling out one app [easy app/not the best school] and it asked for ACT scores. I believe the common app does too. If you think you can substantially improve the scores, then wait.

I personally don’t want a top college to see I ever got a 30 when I think I can do better in September.
