Hello, I am wondering when I should submit my application for early round. All of my early schools' deadlines are November 1st, and I haven't submitted my application yet.
I'm still waiting for teachers to complete my recommendations for me and only one of them has submitted it so far. I've actually set the deadline for recommendations to be until October 15th.
But now I'm afraid that after all of the problems that the new CommonApp is giving us, and think that I should have told the teachers to complete their recommendations a little earlier. Do you think it will be safe enough for me to send applications about a week before the deadline?

You don’t need to wait for the recommendations to submit your portion of the app. Go ahead with that whenever you are ready. A week before the deadline should be just fine.

If you have your application and essays done, you should submit them early. Once submitted, it will take a few days to a week for the school to download your app as they do that in batches. Then you may be able to track your application even before the application deadline. This would allow you to check if you have anything missing. Sometimes you may need to resubmit something and submitting the app early would give you more time to solve any issue as soon as possible…

@billcsho Would it be possible for me to change or delete my reconmenders after I submit my app? Do you think submitting my app about a week entails risks?

*I meant “about a week before the deadline”

No change after submitting the app to that school. You may change those you have not submitted. In any case, make sure you have submitted the scores and transcripts ahead of the deadline. Some schools required all those materials be received by the deadline. Scores may take 1-2 weeks for delivery.

Thank you for your advice. By any chance do you know how exactly a change can be made after aubmitting the app to one achool? Do I need to make an alternate version or am I able to edit the app just by navigating through each section?
