When should I take AP Micro/Macroeconomics?

I want to major in Economics, but my school only offers regular class in Micro/Macroeconomics. I will self study the rest of the material for the AP exam. I was planning on taking the class during senior year but I thought it might look bad because colleges wont know I'm planning on taking the AP exam. Any advise on when I should take it. I only liste my AP and Honor classes.

Sophomore: AP European History, Math 2 Honors, Chemistry Honors

Junior: AP US History, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, Spanish 4 Honors

Senior: AP Spanish Language, AP Physics C, AP Statistics, Multi-variable calculus Honors

Colleges i'm interested in: Upenn (finance major), Yale, University of Chicago, Northwestern, Harvard, and Princeton

sophomore year? it’s least packed

Never that class sucks.

Wow the kid’s aiming for the ivies.

Welcome to CC. We’ll cut you down to size soon enough.

I’m currently taking it as a sophomore and I suggest that you take it also as a sophomore. It is an extremely hard class and you don’t really want to take it along with many other AP classes because it takes up a lot of time.

Well, at my school, only AP Macro is offered (not Micro), and economics is a required course that we can only take senior year.
