I’m currently a senior in highschool and I had already taken one old SAT test last year. I want to take it again to see if my score might change with the new SAT but since college application is approaching fast, I’m not sure when should I take mine. My parents want me to sign up for the new SAT prep course that starts at the middle of October to the end of November. I’m afraid that if I take the new SAT in December, I might not get a good score since it will be my first time. That is why I thought I should at least take it two times, one in November and one in December. However, is it bad to take the SAT 3 times? Also, during the November SAT date, it coincides with one of my prep school lessons. So in all, should I take both SATs or just one SAT?
Well, the first thing is, are the colleges you are looking at score choice? If they are score choice, then you should definitely take it November, however, if you do not like your score then you can take it again in December. This is the great thing about score choice; you can decide what score you would like to send to the college you are interested in. However, if they are not score choice then you should still, definitely, take it in November. A lot of people take the SAT more than once, therefore it is not frowned upon. Taking it three times is not the end of the world as well. To sum things up: find out if the colleges you are looking at are score choice, take a practice SAT, score it, review what you got wrong. I hope I helped:)
