When should we hear back?

For admission/ scholarship consideration if we got our application in before Sept. 1?

My daughter had her application in before Sept 1 last year, and heard about admission in the first half of October.

Scholarships.. . . .hmmm, into her soph year, I'm still waiting for some! :)

My D heard about a scholarship about 2 weeks after getting acceptance letter which seemed the norm. I know of others that had to wait about 2 months.

Just got my acceptance to Pitt and honors college for Engineering today!!

Congrats Mike! You will really like Pitt!

Wow that was fast. Was it an email or real mail?

It was snail mail. A big white envelope with CONGRATULATIONS on the outside!

Thanks! Would love to attend but I need scholarship money. My parents says the tuition/fees has to equal what we would pay for in-state tuition/fees for UVA or VA Tech. They have saved enough for the VA in-state college/universities so Pitt's costs would have to be comparable. They did like the campus when we visited in July (and yes, applied then since the application fee was waived).

Congrats, Mike! Were you an obvious shoo-in, is that why you think you were chosen so quickly?

Congrats Mike! I got my acceptance letter today too. Not from the Honors College... I guess I didn't meet the standards. Oh well.
I was so excited!

Congrats to you also, fishdontbite! Don't forget that you can still enroll in honors classes if you want to.

thanks! yeah, that's probably what I'm going to do.

Congrats, mike and fishdontbite! I remember this time last year. It's a very exciting time. Hopefully you will both be hearing abut scholarships soon!

when did you apply? my son applied way back in july after we visited. my s called and was told no admissions decisions would gomout until after October 10. i guess that wasn't true.

hopefully he will hear soon. his on line status page hasn't changed for a month or so

I applied when we went for the open house in July. It seemed like everyone was submitting an application.

Lol, I guess I didnt get my app. in as early as I thought I did.

I sent mine in September 10 and heard back yesterday. You'll hear soon :)

i turned mine in like july 20th at the summer getting to know or whatever program, and i heard back today.
also, mike what were your stats? i didnt hear anythinga bout honors college and im pretty sure i qualify

Nikkigirl, my son very easily qualified for the honors college a few years ago, but didn't hear anything. We called and asked about it and they immediately offered it to him. They make mistakes. You should call.

Mike, if your CR/M is over 1450, you stand a good chance of getting an OOS full-tuition scholarship, ASSUMING that Pitt is doing things the same way as they did last year. You should hear in about two weeks about that. Best of luck!
