I"m going to be retaking the SAT soon and I needed a bit of information as to when would be the best time. I can either take it on Dec. 1st or Jan. 26th.

The Dec. 1st test I will be sure to have the results and everything back before I put in applications around feb. or march. but the thing is if I wait for the Jan. 26th test I can get a LOT more studying in and might even have the chance to study enough for two subject tests as well as right now I'm obviously in the middle of a difficult semester and it would be difficult for me to get in a lot of studying and stuff.

Anyone else had a similar situation or know whether or not the results will be back in a reasonable time for my applications for fall '08? I'm applying for Junior admissions if it helps at all.

if you're applying as a junior transfer, your SAT scores probably arent going to be as important as your grades. the older you get, the less important the test gets. so dont sacrafice anything for the test if you want to take it, ust do your best and pay close attention to your grades

When is your school's deadline? If the deadline is late march/early april, I'd go with the Jan. test. Im sursprised they even evaluate SATs considering you're a junior transfer.

March 1 Georgetown and March 15th for Cornell.

I'm mainly taking the test again to prove to myself that I can do better than a miserable 1100; A lot of prestigious firms like MBB also consider sat scores when deciding who to interview and I don't want that embarrassing score coming back to haunt me.

I figure it can only help in admissions too.
