anyone know? my d is hoping to be accepted and needs to send in a deposit for a summer program July 20- Aug 2nd, and we want to be sure the dates don't conflict. Maybe getting a little ahead of ourselves, but would like to be able to plan ahead.
Hopefully orientation is later in August?

There are many, many different orientations, starting in June and going through August. You'll definitely be able to attend one of them.

Thanks...are the dates in the link for this summer or last summer? I couldn't see a date anywhere.

Advice: When the time comes, sign up for orientation as soon as they begin taking reservations. Some sessions fill quickly. A bonus of attending one of the first few sessions is that you might have a better chance of getting some classes by registering earlier in the cycle. In theory, slots in freshman classes are held open so each orientation session gets a crack at them, but in the meantime, returning students might change their schedules and grab the last spot in a class you need. Go for an earlier session, if at all possible. Also, send in your housing application as soon as you are accepted, even if you don't know if you will attend USC. Housing assignments are made based on when they receive your housing application, so the earlier you turn it in the better chance you have of getting your first choice.

Advice appreciated. Now all she has to do is get in!

Sorry, the link is for Summer 2006.
