I am a nervous mom wondering when I should start stalking the mail box... :)

Hedda, a lot of kids and moms and dads have been stalking the letter carrier for weeks now!

His #1 is Cal Arts. Rumor has it the letters arrive in colorful packaging. We’ll see!

My daughter has received two acceptance letters and one rejection letter so far. The waiting is terrible.

Dropping in from the Music Major site, but wanted to mention that things aren’t the same as they were when we were wating for the mailman-remember looking for the big, fat envelopes? Now, with the advent of electronic communications, acceptance letters can show up in regular, thin, legal-sized envelopes. I had no idea until my D began shrieking at the top of her lungs back on the day after Christmas, “I’ve gotten into college!!”

Appropo of your post, Mezzo’sMama^^^…see this article:

In reply to Hedda. Cal Arts does come in a clear envelope with colorful insert. Congrats was written on the back. Waiting is hard!

Seaside,
where did your daughter apply?
I auditioned Feb 3 and 4 for Fordham, CalArts, and USC in Chicago. Last Wed. (the 18th) for NYU and today for UNSCA.
Did she apply for any of those schools?

“His #1 is Cal Arts. Rumor has it the letters arrive in colorful packaging. We’ll see!”

Yes, my son is completing his BFA1 at CalArts and this time last year he received a very recognizable, colorful envelope. Last year the word “congratulations” was very small at the top of the back of the envelope. I have seen a posting of this year’s letter and the “congratulations” seems much larger. You will know it when you see it!

Good luck!

Evanjones,
What is your son majoring in? What is his opinion of the school after being there a semester?

Margot33 my daughter applied to NYU, but none of the others you applied to. All replies came in regular letter envelopes. Nothing fancy. So there is no telling what you will find inside until you rip that envelope open.

My cousin got her CalArts acceptance last Saturday. Clear envelope with an intricate, colored insert. Acceptance letter, housing info and sticker inside.

filly–did she apply to the acting program?

" My cousin got her CalArts acceptance last Saturday. Clear envelope with an intricate, colored insert. Acceptance letter, housing info and sticker inside. "

My heart stopped when I read this. I applied to the Experimental Animation program and still haven’t heard anything.

A friend of my son’s was accepted for Photography - his letter came around the 21st… He showed me his letter this weekend colorful congrats!

fillyflurel - I am also curious if it you cousin applied for acting or another program???

He was accepted into technical theater/production/design. If you google CalArts, some blogs come up with bloggers writing about their decisions. There’s a guy who got denied from Film and a couple that got acceptances from animation. Still waiting for mine–Film Production.

This waiting is so terrible! I’ve auditioned for 7 schools and I have only heard back from Penn State. I’m suppose to be hearing from Roosevelt this week but you know how that goes. And you can’t just put it in the back of your head because this is deciding where you’re going to spend the next four years of your life. :sigh: Sometimes I feel like parents don’t understand that, epecially mine. I know that’s probably not true but it feels that way sometimes.

For all those wondering about CalArts Acting, I got my acceptance in the mail today, indeed, it’s clear enveloped, congratulations at the top on the back. Postmarked on Friday the 27th.

Congrats!!!

Is no news bad news? There was nothing in the mail box… Won’t he be notified either way?
