When will finacial aid checks go out, after classes are paid for?

EDIT: sorry, wrong thread!

The estimate for release of funds not used towards university expenses (tuition, fees, and on-campus housing) is about August 17. That’s what OSFS said would be the approximate date, give or take a day or two. If you don’t receive it after a few days, call them, and they’ll tell you what’s going on.

really? we get it that soon? i thought they wouldn’t release it till after the 12th class day??

I don’t know…

This year is just off. They took long to tell me how much I was gonna get and they took long to disburse what money I had left after it was applied to my tuition debt. School had already started for me in the summer and I was still pretty much broke.

You won’t know for sure until they tell you that it’s pending which will be a couple days before it actually gets deposited/sent.

My faith in financial aid has gone down since then. Like my rent is due on the 20th and that’s cutting it really really close. And I’m still getting peanuts compared to what I got last year. Gonna be short by the end of the fall semester. le sigh Never thought I’d actually be that ramen eating starving college student. lol

Nah, nah, things will be okay though.

But don’t count on it being there when you might need it the most. Make sure you still get your books before they all sell and know that you’ll get finaid eventually at least.

Well I’m coming from a local CC, and we would sometimes wait until week of classes, or week before. I feel you sasha2014, I will be struggling as well, I’m not getting anything close to what I got for ACC. I’m scared( going to be lots of Ramen noodle nights) LOL:)
