I just completed my application on Feb. 9th, and I am supposed to go to panel this week according to my AFA counselor. How long after one goes to panel does it usually take to find out?

I'm pretty sure my file went to panel as soon as they processed my nomination, and I found out the next week when I called my counselor that it had "gone well." Then the Academy staffer from my Congressman's office called and let me know for sure that I was in. Believe me, it's an amazing moment! Hang in there! The majority of appointments still haven't been offered yet. It's definitely worth the wait! :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I am so anxious that I am having difficulty maintaining myself. lol.

What took you so long to complete your package?

The thing with panels is that they meet every week. In my case I went to panel about 7 times before they made a decision. It is good to get extended to the next panel, well at least better than be deemed uncompetitive. In my case I submitted my application in November and got an appt. in February.....actually now that I think about it, I heard exactly a year ago today. Cool. but dont worry "no news is good news"

I just received my appointment package in the mail.

I'll be seeing you all this summer!

sweet, congrats.
