Tulane doesn’t seem to give out anything other than the middle 50% of SAT and ACT scores, but even those aren’t out yet. It would be nice to see if Tulane is still getting more competitive or not.
Sure they do. http://tulane.edu/oair/common_data_set.cfm You might have to do some elementary math, but they show you exactly how many applied, how many they accepted, how many enrolled, and there are breakdowns of the SAT and ACT. They don’t publish an average that I can find (although sometimes I have seen admissions mention the average on the web site and/or in their blogs), but not only do they give the 25-75 percentile, it is also broken down by 700-800, 600-700, etc. If you wanted to go to the trouble to build a spreadsheet, you have various years you can build to see if there is much movement. I can tell you the changes tend to be small increments but generally upward. I believe acceptance rate has stabilized around 25-27%, but I don’t think people should use that to mean anything any longer. In this day of the Common App and 15 applications (or more) per student in many cases, acceptance rates and yields have lost the impact they used to convey.
I don’t know when the 2015-2016 CDS gets published.
Unofficially, TU has said that the average SAT score (on a 1600 scale) for the 2019 class will be about six points higher than the prior year and probably their highest ever.
Agree that acceptance rates these days are having less and less validity. The stats of the actual students who enroll seems to be a better indicator.
Come September, it will be interesting to see how Tulane does in the USNWR annual rodeo. As was discussed before, the Katrina effects were peaking last year in regard to the very important (and extremely lagging) six year graduation metric.
For this year, TU’s data set will include the much improved and new normal data for the class that started Fall 2008. The awful data for the Fall 2004 class (returning sophs when Katrina hit) will finally roll out of the data set.
FYI, here’s TU’s recent 6 year graduation rates:
2002 74%
2003 73%
2004 70%
2005 N/A Katrina
2006 75%
2007 76%
2008 83%
I’d guess they will be moving up a few spots. But TU is still three years away from being completely done with that. Since USNWR uses an average for the past four years.
