Has anyone received word or do they not respond until later date?

Top ten percent usually take a few weeks.. not top ten percent is usually march, and more likely after spring break.

yea the earlier u apply the faster ur decision will be sent back.

Hmmm, so I had my app and all my other crap in by the beginning of October. And I'm a top 10%'er. Should I expect to see an acceptance by early-mid Nov. or is that just too early?

you should be getting it any time now..

I just received my acceptance letter for School of Nursing...

surprising because the admissions officer that visited my school said I wouldn't receive notice until January-ish since the pre-professional Nursing program is competitive.

Are they rolling ad? because i don't want to hurt my chances by aiming for the feb 2 deadline

I thought if it's rolling there really isn't a deadline?

The admissions lady for my region said it depends on the college you are applying for - (i.e. liberal arts is the "easiest" one to get into... so if you are in top 10% you have a higher chance of being admitted and receiving an acceptance letter within a couple weeks). Now if it's a competitive major (Business especially), then the acceptance letters won't go out until March or so...

Congratz, ortaluce

My friend got accepted into the Business School two days ago (the reply was quick, she had only submitted her application a little over a week ago). SHe applied for honors and doesn't know if she's been accepted yet into that, but for sure she's in at the Business School.

I have another friend that submitted his application around early September. He received his acceptance about 3-4 weeks after his application.

In addition to both of those people that I know for sure got in, I have heard that others have gotten in also. My friend who got accepted into the Business school is really smart (top 1-2%, in business related classes, fbla, etc) so it wasn't surprising that she got accepted (though the quickness of her reply was!)

My other friend that applied in early september is about...5 people away from top 10% and he got in. I don't know if these factors are of considerable importance but he's mexican, smart, got National Hispanic Merit (or something like that).

All I can say is that if you applied early, wait and see. I'm doing that right now :)

Top 10%'er

Got my acceptance to College of Natural Sciences (Biology) today. I submitted early October.
But then my friend submitted about a week ago and also got his acceptance today.

I applied as a transfer back in July for the Spring 08 semester. I have not received anything from UT yet. Someone told me adcom waits to review all apps until after the deadline, which was a week ago. But my online status page changed from saying "We have received all items necessary to review your app" to "The adcom is currently reviewing your application" about a week before the Oct. 31st deadline. Also, under application fee it changed from "PAID" to "COVERED".

I don't know what to make of these subtle changes, but I'm getting a little anxious about my decision, because I will soon be blocked from registering for classes at my current institution, and I need to notify my landlord of whether I'm staying of vacating... and it all hangs on the letter I haven't even received yet.

Anyone know when I should expect something?

Were acceptances by the website, email, or mail?

I received it by mail...but you can also view it on the website through Be A Longhorn with your UTEID (you can check there to see what items of the application they have received and what they haven't)

I received my decision for Spring 2008 Transfer Application almost a week ago, but it wasn't a positive outcome. You've survived the first round... They're probably looking at your application more closely. I suspect that you have a week or two before you are notified. My decision appeared online a day before it arrived in the mail.

Good luck!

I guess it is comforting to know that they are still reviewing my app, then. I knew UT had a tougher admissions process but I didn't think they'd do it in "tiers" so to speak. Thanks for the info, and sorry to hear that they declined you.

I'm in top 10% and I got my admission letter for liberal arts just 5 days after I finished my app!

I was accepted to Liberal Arts literally the day after my official SAT scores, the last piece of info the school needed, reached the school.

It probably didn't hurt that I'm Top 10% at a really good HS, National Merit SF, and National Hispanic Scholar, and that I put UT as my #1 choice for the National Merit packet.

Now I'm just waiting for December to hear back from Plan II. Based on my scores and grades and what my teachers said about my essays, as well as the people who've gotten in from my school in the past, I'm optimistic. But the month wait is going to be so painful!

I 've been admitted for Spring 2008 Transfer Application first-choice major last Monday by college of science.

if you an out of state student when do you hear?
