Where are all my UC to UC transfers?

I'm getting tired of reading posts from all these CC students and thinking I have a shot because I have about the same stats..only to remember that it's not quite the same.

We don't have TAG. We don't have TAP.

For all that have successfully done it this year and as well as all who plan to do it this year, let's chat :]

Any realities you want to share? Stories?

Don’t listen to people that say its impossible. I applied from UCR with a 3.86 (poly sci) and got into UCSD and UCSB. Still waiting on UCLA, UCB, and UCI.

Just gotta get a high GPA and finish pre-reqs. Thats all I can say.

^^^ almost exact same situation as kobeftw, same school, same gpa. I got into UCSD in the first batch, waiting on UCLA. Its not impossible u just need a really high GPA :)

^ yeah, but what if you don’t have a very high GPA, just a GPA that closely matches the GPAs from those that have successfully transferred from CCs?

I read that CC and UC transfers have the same priority at UCLA, and also added to the fact that they don’t have a TAG program so that all the spots are filled quickly. Also added to the fact that I’m applying to a non-impacted major (anthropology).

Has anyone used one of Ms. Sun’s offered packages? Because I am really thinking of doing that. I’ll pay 400 dollars, I don’t care.

well, i mean the lower ur GPA the lower ur chances of getting accepted. The UC site specifically says it gives priority to CC students over UC to UC transfers. Like i said hard but not impossible for bad asses like me and kobeftw :)

yeah im an anthro major from ucr as well.
good luck to you all!
:D

Wait, I’m confused.

I am currently a freshmen at a UC (fall 2010 entering class). Does that mean that I file an application this November 2011 to be considered for Fall 2012?

I was reading that for UCLA you must have junior-level standing with a 90 quarter unit minimum. Is that at the time you apply? Or by the spring before?

The spring before…

Sorry, I know that must have seemed like a stupid question. I knew that didn’t make sense. Just wanted to make sure

Thanks

Me!

Trying to transfer from UCR, I love Riverside, but I love LA more.

Where is everyone transferring from?

If you run the stats at [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/default.aspx), you can get major/division-specific stats for UC vs. CCC transfers (only for some majors/divisions and if the campus reports them separately). If your major is reported with separate stats, you can get an idea of what you are up against. Typically the non-CCC transfer rates are about half of the CCC transfers, but the numbers can vary quite a bit depending on the major.
