Where are you guys in AP Chem?

<p>We're about 1/4 of the way through the second quarter and on Chapter 11 of Zumdahl over solutions.</p>

<p>We've completed most of the qualitative analysis stuff (lab) as well. Our teacher doesn't really explain concepts well enough, and zumdahl's problems are much better than his explanations of the topic imo.</p>

<p>Hopefully, everyone is on the same page. The next couple of topics actually seem somewhat interesting: kinetics, equilibrium, electrochem, etc.</p>

<p>We have finished 1/3 of the year and we have completed Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. I don't know where we are going next.</p>

<p>we have only finished Chapters 1-4. Wow are we behind?</p>

<p>By this time last year we had finished Chapters 2, 8, and 7 in Hill/Petrucci, in that order. Yes, my teacher was crazy. Yes, you pretty much had to get another book and self-study in order to get a 5.</p>

<p>We are using Brown and Lemay.
So far we've done 7 labs and the following chapters:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,21,25
But he's going really fast and most people in there have no clue what's going on</p>

<p>in zumdhal we've done 2,3,4,5,6,7 and on 8 right now going to 9. about 3/4 of the class is so totally lost and he lectures like we're in college. no explanation involved and theres this one girl who gets everything he says so shes like the teacher's pet. sometimes hes clueless too. o lord so screwed for the ap test</p>

<p>To crosscurrent, we use Brown and Lemay as well and we just started 7-8-9, our teacher teaches the materialsby blocks. I can't believe you covered all the information in half a semester, highly impressive. Isn't that all you need for the AP?</p>

My teacher plans to finish the book by February and review for 3 months lol</p>

<p>Zumdahl 1-8 done, in the middle on 9</p>

<p>In Zumdahl we've done 1-7, 22 and an entire book of equations (ick)...no one really knows whats going on though...our teacher complains about the honors kids more than she teaches</p>

<p>Does anyone use Masterson/Hurley?</p>

<p>We've done chapters 1-7, almost done with seven. There are about 22 Chapters but I think the last bunch are BS chapters. </p>

<p>I'm a little worried- I've heard that I should use another textbook, but I seriously doubt I would actually read it. Is my textbook (coupled with review books) enough material or should I get another?</p>

<p>we're using brown/lemay 8th edition, and we are done with 1-9, 11 nad 12, and working on 10...</p>

We didn't have textbooks for the first two months, because this is the first year we have AP Chemistry in our school. So my teacher bought Zumdahl and Chang's book by himself. Then he would photocopy each chapter of Zumdahl for all his students (appx. 30). He did this for 5 chapters. Then my school finally ordered copies for everyone, and now we have Zumdahl.</p>

<p>we did 1-4, and 15-17. the teacher said we're going to be on 17 till christmas.</p>

<p>chem teacher wings it everyday ..no textbook ..minimal notes if any. hes been teaching chem for 12ish years (AP for 5) so i guess he knows what hes doing.</p>

<p>i dunno. we skip around in the Zumdahl, but my teacher skips around in a way that makes sense...</p>
