ok so i visited all of the buildings and here's my list:
1. fluor
2. parkside
3. birnkrant
4. pardee
cleanliness is pretty important to me and suites are just so much cleaner than the dorms. i don't need that much privacy, but in the few times that i do need it, i need it bad, so that's my other reason for choosing suites. as far as social goes, i actually think quieter is better. living in fluor or parkside, i can always visit the other dorms for parties and fun, but after the parties are over, i can easily walk back to my clean and quiet suite for some much needed rest. also, i had a problem with the heat in the dorms. i'm always warm, even in the winter, so the AC--only in fluor and parkside--is very persuasive.

does anyone know about the business floor of north...is it actually worth it and is it coed? and whats the difference between a coed hall and coed floor?
i would like to stay in new/north because of the environment something is always going on

I looked in the "Living at USC" packet and it says there is one Business Floor for men and one for women. Coed floor is like one floor for women, the next floor for men, and so on. And coed wings I think is just one wing of the floor is men while the other side is women?

Without having actually seen each place, Birnkrant appeals to me the most right now. I wish I can visit USC soon so I can really fill out my housing application, but I probably won't be going up til Explore USC in April.

birnkrant is great. that's what i put as my first choice. people were in the halls and there was a little bit of noise, but that's because it was one big study session in the halls (it was midterms).

is it possible to submit your housing then withdraw?

you mean submit housing and not go to usc? yeah that's possible. it's encouraged that you send in your housing app as soon as possible regardless of whether you go to usc or not. there is a nonrefundable 30 dollar processing fee but it's worth it to get your first choice if you decide to go.

if you're talking about changing your options once you've submitted your app, then yes, it's possible. i sent them an email with my new choices and 20 minutes later got a reply saying that my new choices had been entered into the computer.

Is the Arts and humanities residential college just for students in those majors and the international residential college just for internationals?

For those of you who have seen the rooms, how are the triples? My parents will not pay for a single, so it's double and triple for me and I wanted to know if I should put Birnkrant triple as 2nd choice after the double or stay away from it. So what are your opinions on living in a triple?

sorry if this is a dumb question- but can you send in a housing deposit without having been accepted?
if you later don't go there, is it refundable?

No, you have to be accepted to submit your housing application.

is birnkrant coed? because i have been to an all boys floor at usc and it is absolutley dead

asking again: Is the Arts and humanities residential college just for students in those majors and the international residential college (which i think is called parkside duits) just for internationals?

I know the international residence hall is open to everyone, and I think in general specialty floors and dorms are open to everyone (with some exceptions like honor's dorms, etc, I believe)

x3cin: I have visited a Birnkrant triple, and they're pretty awesome. You have one room with three beds and a living room with your desks/microfridge. You can comfortably fit a couch and TV into the second room. :) Visit the above link for a 360 degree view of the triple.

MustangQb03: Yes, Birnkrant is co-ed. Girls on one side of the floor, guys on the other.

J-sus: Parkside is open to everyone, and I would assume the Arts & Humanities is also. (Thanks for bringing this topic up, I just found out that Parkside II finally has a name! Ew...arts & humanities...how unoriginal)

jbusc: Honors dorms are open to everyone also.

so nobody likes aprtments here?, except bluebeard

hey rukun, are you from karachi?

yup, you too ?

yeah i am, i go to KGS
which school r u?
dude i got my acceptance on friday 9th march, wat abt u?
is USC ur first choice?

no, rukun, i'm not down with apartments. i wanted fluor tower and parkside for a while but i stayed in webb tower for explore usc (it's right next to fluor) and i got sooooo sick of having to walk so much. i actually visited birnkrant and new/north again and i really really liked them so i changed my housing preference to birnkrant first, then new/north second/third.

hi...im majorin in Finance; and most of my classes are in Popovich and Hoffman Halls which on the map seems reeeaally far from Fluor...

i need clean bathrooms, and AC...so my first choice was fluor...(the lounge on each floor with a micro-oven and stove is also nice to have)

can any1 tell me how far fluor really is from Hoffman and Popovich Halls?

I also need some info on Century Apartments, Parkside, and the new Humanities and Arts Building...
