I read about them online on the UCSD website, but I still don't really grasp what admission to the different colleges means. Or, BETTER YET, share your personal opinion on each of the colleges.

I got into Warren, for what it's worth.

Each college has its own philosophy regarding education. Warren’s for example is “Toward a Life in Balance”. Basically it just means that there are different gen ed requirements for each college that is based on their respective philosophy.

Each of the 6 colleges has different general education requirements. Here’s a quick comparison chart: http://www.ucsd.edu/_files/6collegescompared.pdf
Some colleges have a lot more GE’s, but it would be a good fit for you if you’re interested in those classes/subjects.

They also differ in housing, dining and location on campus, although it doesn’t really matter if you’ll be a transfer living off campus. Some colleges are known for being popular with certain majors, but you can still declare for any major no matter what college you’re in.

As a transfer student, there are some colleges that still require you to take additional courses when you get to UCSD on top of IGETC/TAP/other similar program. If you haven’t completed IGETC or some other program like that, then you must adhere to all the GE’s of your new college, which can be a big hassle for the ones that have a lot of requirements. I’ve found no simple way to compare these except to go to each individual college’s website and look at what fulfills their general education requirements.

ya… that link isn’t very helpful because it doesn’t tell you stuff for transfer students.

There was a great page I found when i was looking into the different colleges. But that was a while ago, and i can’t find that page now.
