lol, i should just stroll into the admissions office and see whether you guys got in.

You can do that? Don't forget to ask about me. lol

Can you check on my engineering app while you're at it? heheh

We should hire private detectives to go and spy on our schools' admissions offices. lol

Its now nearly 7 PM. do you think he forgot to update....?

um, i am not really taking anyone's coments to be the absolute truth anymore......

Waits patiently for the promised update I'm staying up all night anyways, might as well check on it periodically!

Hmm 12...its getting late. I wouldn't mind tomorrow morning at 8...

um....everything that chicago says doesn't seem to ever be true....i am truly amazed what goes on w. transfer admissions w. these schools, they treat like second-class ppl, this would never happen w. freshman admissions, and they know it

if they say notification is Dec 15 for EA for freshmen, it happens, and trust me, this stuff wouldn't be tolerated

i feel bad that the poor guy's daughter got chicken pox, but honestly, do u think thats really why we haven't heard yet

in addition, i got admitted last year, wat a way to treat a former accepted student.....

u guys can be like omg, its so nice for them to be communicating with us on the transfer blog, however, its more u guys communicating w. each other than them, as u see, for every 10 posts made by a student on there, u might get 1 post by someone in that admissions office

i told this whole thing to my advisor (who happens to be a director of a subject at an ivy league), and she was totally surprised, how they can be running late like this and saying that their having small problems, bits here and there...

w.e., at least that's off my chest for the day

In general, I agree with you bball87. This kind of thing would not be tolerated for freshman admissions.

Chicago is starting to give me the impression that they are running less efficiently than my local McDonalds. It's lowered my image of them a bit. (It's not so much late decisions, but it's the idea of having their words contradict their actions that bugs me.)

I would actually complain directly to them (I don't care if it hurts my chances. I don't think we should look at admissions offices as dictorial regimes, ready to behead us for speaking our minds!). But for some reason, they waived my application fee, so I don't feel like I have much of a right since I'm not a "paying customer."

"for some reason"...don't you have to apply for that or did they allready know you and wanted to apply?

That is actually an error. You are supposed to pay despite what it says on the application status page.

OFancy,

No, I didn't apply for it (they just cancelled my check). I think it might be a hint that they are going to accept me. My application was pretty strong and nontraditional, and I'm sure it stood out. (I don't mean that to brag... It's just a fact. How many high school drop-outs do you think confidently apply to Chicago? :))

BUT, of course they may have waived my fee just by mistake! For that reason I don't want to ask them about it. I'd rather just hold onto my $60 bucks. LOL

Nspeds,

But I did pay. They just declined to cash my check. And on the credentials they listed my check number and next to it wrote "App fee paid/App fee waived"

I see.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Oh well. Good luck : )!

Did anyone else get the "app fee paid/app fee waived" credential for a check included with your paper application?

Good luck to you as well, nspeds!

And good luck to everyone else, while I'm at it!

Thanks johnM.

I am not sure I want the luck; many other applicants, such as you, need a UChicago acceptance more than I do. I suppose I am just asking for a luxury.

All the best.

nspeds: are you applying to UChicago? were you not accepted and are attending Georgetown right now?

I applied RD. I never applied before.

I like the idea of hardcore intellectualism. The image of a young student studying at 4am with beads of sweat running down his/her head is attractive to me : )

If I may, I think you would make a good Chicago student.
I am also applying to Georgetown and though they are very different schools, I think I would have a tough time deciding between the two.

that is more than we wanted to know :)
