I'm currently at University of Michigan and am looking to transfer back to the west coast where I'm from (berkeley) for school next year. I want to look into much smaller school, not too small, but Michigan is just too overwhelming for me! I'd prefer to stay within california, oregon or washington. I like more of a city feel, nothing where you feel isolated or like you're in the middle of nowhere, it doesnt have to be a real metropolitan but somewhere lively. Any suggestions of where to look into would be great!

Reed in Portland, Seattle U in.. well I'll let you guess, Claremont Colleges, Gonzaga U in Spokane, WA

Reed College Griffins
Whitman College Reapers
Claremont McKenna College Stags
Pomona College Sagehens

any others????

Occidental.

Try these schools:

Harvard University
University of Michigan--Ann Arbor
University of California--Los Angeles
University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill
Washington University in St. Louis

Did you even read the original post?

1) 4 of those schools are not on the west coast.
2) He wants smaller schools!
3) He is ALREADY at Michigan!!!
4) That list makes absolutely no sense on how you got it together... It seems a very random mismatched list.
5) The one west coast schools is bigger than the one he is at....
6) wow, just wow...

Anyway, I would suggest:

The Claremont Colleges (Pomona, Scripps, Claremont Mckenna, Harvey Mudd, Pitzer)
Reed College
Whitman College
Occidental
Gonzaga
Evergreen State University

ok sorry

The two best small schools on the West Coast for academics and social life are

Whitman College
and Claremont McKenna College

my apologies, I didn't read the post in detail!
