Coffee - Strada
BBQ - Everett's & Jones (for American). Steve's BBQ for Korean
Burger's - Barney's
Suishi - Sushi House
Pizza - Zachary's
Gelato - (forgot the name) it's on Shattuck
Irish Bar - Beckett's

I am sure there are more, these were the places I mostly frequent.

OMG! You don't know Korean BBQ?! It's called "galbi" in Korean. So good... it just melts in your mouth. That is if you go to a authentic galbi house, not those fakes like Steve's in Berkeley.

Sushi House is really dirty and they raised the prices and decreased the amount of food :( Joshu-ya's on Dwight/Telegraph has higher quality sushi, complimentary miso soup and salad, and similar prices.

For Chinese food, Chang Luong (above Lotus House) is the best. I think it's more authentic than Mandarin House.

I know what Korean BBQ is it is just that my friends are always telling me that the Korean BBQ at Steve's is fake and there is nothing Korean about the BBQ they make.

^
dt_ there are too many Indian places. Some of them are Indo-Pak, some are Himalayan (as in Himalayan parts of Indian and Himalayan countries (Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan)), some are just Indian. It varies. Naan & Curry is a good Punjabi place.

Hey hey, just because their are Mexicans doing the cooking doesn't mean that it is not authentic. The owners are Asians.

Additionally, the rats running under your feet is more than enough to prove that it is authentic and the real deal! It's not the best but pretty damn good and t hey do give you quite a bit. I agree that it is kind of pricey.

Yes, Udupi is a chain. I grew up going to the one in Sunnyvale. I thought it was weird. The website says Indo-Pak but I always thought of it as S. Indian.

Udupi is a type of North Indian cooking style that the restaurant is named for. In South India, udupi cooking is specialized because it's a slightly different flavor for the same dishes.
...At least, that's what I grew up believing LOL
