Well the final answers are here. What would you do? (Majors: Finance and Accounting)

Schools:

Accepted-
*UW-Madison(already turned down my admission so that's a no go)
*Boston University
*U of Minnesota (Carlson)
*Drake

Waitlisted-
*Georgetown

Right now I'm planning on Minnesota. I have heard that BU isn't worth the money?
Any opinions?

Thanks!

Considering your location, I’d go with Minnesota. I’ve heard GREAT things about Carlson, and you can’t beat the reciprocity.

minnesota out of state aint cheap either i can’t tell you where to go because i am not sure what your looking for in a college. academically they are about equal in ranks with BU ranking slightly better. if you’re a city type of person then BU is definitely for you! Boston is an exciting city and you will find more internship opportunities here than in Minneapolis.

Wisconsin residents get in-state tuition at Minnesota schools. So if he is, as his profile says, a Wisconsin resident, he’d pay about 18 grand a year including room and board @ Minnesota. Minneapolis / St. Paul are also amazing cities, it’s all just about what the OP wants. Have you visited any of your picks?

^wow thats something i never knew before.
with money aside, BU and UM r different type of schools. If OP is big on athletics and school spirit, he’d be better off being a golden gopher than being a terrier (other than hockey of course!). BU is also more diverse in terms of student body makeup.

I have visited U of M twice. I haven’t been to Boston, I was waiting until admission until thinking about visiting.

What I want in a college is basically the following:
*Urban
*A good amount of prestige
*School Spirit
*Plenty of oppurtunities
*Outstanding job placement

I am worried about BU though as I have read it’s not worth the money. Is there any truth to this? With Minnesota being equivalent to in-state it’s really hard to turn such a good school, especially Carlson.

UMN almost sounds perfect for you!

Being in the Big 10 is obviously a huge deal, and with the new stadium ready to open next year… It’s going to be crazy! According to the princeton review, I think the UMN was ranked 64 (someone correct me if I’m wrong) - and many of its individual programs are highly prestigious (ex. chem engin.). And again, being a Big 10 school means countless opportunities.
