Which ACT scores would YOU send?

I’ve taken the ACT three times and have three sets of scores:

April 2017: 31C-36E, 33R, 27M, 26S
September 2017: 32C-36E, 35R, 28M, 30S
October 2017: 32C-35E, 34R, 31M, 27S

I have a 33 superscore: 36E, 35R, 31M, 30S.

What scores should I send to colleges that have score choice? I will send the September scores because they are my best showing. Some schools will superscore my ACT. I’m very grateful for the 3 point increase in math scores, but I’m not too happy about showing a drop in the three other sections (especially in science, because I’m a science major). Is the benefit of superscoring worth any negative impacts of dropping scores?

If I do send both the September and October scores (to a school that accepts score choice), should I consider sending the September score to highlight that I hit a 36 in English twice? I am applying to a bunch of top50/top20/match schools, (I already applied to all my safeties) so I want to look as competitive as possible.

Thanks for your help!

Unless the college requires all ACT scores, send Sep and Oct. If the college superscores, the April score adds nothing. If the college does not superscore it will use that test it believes is better for you in determining admssion. For many, that may well be the Oct test not the Sep test because many consider math to be a more important score than science (in fact, some ignore science entirely, e.g., Rose Hulman. an engineering/science college which uses only the math and English scores).

And check your schools. Many colleges do not superscore ACT.

Are you applying to engineering programs? If so, make sure you send your highest math score! Other than that, I agree with drusba.
