Which am I better at: ACT or SAT?

Hello,

I am a rising junior and am planning on taking my standardized tests either this fall or winter. Right now I haven’t fully decided which test to take and I’ve only taken practice tests. Below, I will list the breakdowns from those tests and it would be great if you guys could answer the question: Am I better at the ACT or SAT?

Thanks in advance!

SAT: 2040 - 630CR / 750M / 660W / Essay 8
ACT: 31 - 29E / 32M / 32R / 31S / Essay 10

A little more information:
-My PSAT score from sophomore year was 193 (70CR/64M/59W).
-Before that ACT practice test I had never practiced any of the sections.
-I will be shooting for a 2250 or equivalent (which I believe should be achievable if I study).

Thanks for the help and please don’t forget to answer the question: Am I better at the ACT or SAT?

31 and 2040 are basically the same, so if you have practiced SAT and not ACT, you’re likely “better at” the ACT. Both of them just require dedicated practice though.

I would say ACT bcuz the SAT is changing soon

Were these timed tests?

Your ACT score is better, but just barely. Your ACT score of 31 is in the 2060 to 2070 SAT score range. But a 2060/2070 is basically the same thing as a 2040.

@HereToHelpYou Yes, both these tests were timed and proctored officially.

@Shadowsych Yeah those two scores are roughly the same, but when I do individual sections separately I can score higher, closer to 36 and 800, so we’ll see.

There are basically the same score, but since the ACT is an achievement test rather than an aptitude test like the SAT, you have a better chance at improving that score.
