Which Bus do I take to get to Wal-Mart or Target?

Hey, I don't have a car, but I need to get to Wal-Mart or target to buy some things. Does any one know if there is a bus that takes us to either one of the these places? And if so, which bus do I take?

Thanks A Lot!

Here is an educated guess.

1) Get yourself to the bus stop at Dean Keaton and Highway 35 by taking a UT shuttle or the #21 bus or some other bus that is driving down Dean Keaton and heading toward 35.

2) take the 37 bus north. Target is at 5621 N NIH 35. I think you can see Target from the “Cameron and Corona stop 3” on the Route 37 bus map. It’s probably just a mile and a half north on the highway from where you start out at Dean Keaton and Highway 35.

I don’t know any to Target or Walmart. Here’s one to HEB: take 1M/1L on the Drag, going north. The bus goes in a straight line, get off when you see HEB.

You can also take the Red River shuttle north and get off at Hancock Center just north of 41st. There is an H-E-B there.

From where does the Red River shuttle leave? I thought it was quite a distant bus stop, right? Somewhere along San Jacinto?

It leaves at the main bus area, on 23rd just north of the stadium. It’s a 4 minute walk from my dorm.

Why Two Kay, what number stop do you get off at? I’m not familiar with the Red River route or the area where H-E-B is located so i’m afraid I may miss the stop to get off at. Also to those who shop at H-E-B while using the bus, how do you juggle so many bags of groceries? Do you have one of those wheelie grocery bag carts for when you walk back to your dorm or apartment?

You get off at the Hancock center stop. They aren’t really numbered… just get off when there is a giant shopping center to your right after you pass a golf course on your left. Look it up on Google Maps and see what street it is near, they are all numbered in the 40’s I believe.

The bus to target is the CR shuttle. The stops are around the fine arts buildings…but I agree with the above. It’s easier to just go to HEB. You get off at the stop where you see a Jason’s Deli.

What is HEB?

^ Lol, guess you haven’t been to Texas much. HEB is a really big chain of grocery stores in Texas. It’s sort of like a Walmart…

^except much better selection and you don’t have to walk away feeling all guilty and dirty :P

Yeah H-E-B is really great. It’s better than most grocery stores because it’s really clean and you can get a great selection of produce, meat, dairy, and health foods. Oh and they usually have samples :)
