Which College? Anxiety Attack-Please reply! ohmygoodness.

<p>Alrighttt, so just like the other five million people that posted their information on college confidential, I'm going to do the same, because I want to know which college would be right for me, and what college I actually have a chance of getting into.</p>

<p>First off, my high school is ranked 14th, or something like that, in the nation, and it has a very rigorous academic program where you take mostly all AP classes (and some honors) your freshmen and sophomore year and take college courses at a college campus with college students during your junior and senior years.</p>

<p>I took two AP classes-AP World History and AP Psychology in my freshman year, and the rest were all honors classes. I had two B's that year, in Biology and Psychology.
My sophomore year, I took AP US History, AP English, AP Enviro, AP Music Theory, Honors Precalc, and Honors Current Events. (My school has a lot of required/limited number of courses, so you don't really get to pick and choose the classes you take.)
We don't have class rankings, because each grade level only has a max of 50 students.
I also had 2 B's in my Sophomore year (Music Theory and precalc.)</p>

<p>I got 5's and 4's on my AP exams with the exception of Music Theory and Envio (3s)
I have a current 3.75 unweighted GPA and a 5.0 or 5.1 unweighted GPA.
I have +100 volunteer and service hours</p>

<p>The college courses I'm currently taking are: International Relations, Chemistry, English, and French.
I plan on taking French for the rest of my high school career, and I plan on also taking some philosophy, English, and political science classes in college next semester as well as senior year. (I plan on majoring in political science and international relations as well as maybe law, but only because most political science majors have a background in law.) </p>

<p>I'm trying to limit myself to only one B for my junior year, and senior year. (I don't think I can afford to get any more than that..) </p>

<p>"Extracurriculars":
-I interned for a university professor last summer for immigration research
-Volunteered at the Historical Museum because I love history.
-Volunteered at the Center for New North Carolinians of immigrants and refugees (I'm interested in international relations and it gave me a broad scope and a look at a culturally diverse population, etc.)
-This year, I plan on interning at a law firm over Winter break.
-I also plan on applying for the internship with John Kerry over the summer, and I applied to Governor's School for social sciences, and if I get in, I will be attending in the summer.
-TA for
-Hoping to be a research assistant for my college professor for Comparative Politics this upcoming semester :)
-Secretary for International Club at my school
-Member of First Priority Club
-Secretary for Guilford Model Congress club
-Member of Red Cross
-Attended the Princeton Model Congress in 2009
-Attending Harvard Model Congress 2011
-President of UNICEF club at my school
-Praise team at church for 3-4 years
-Ohio Mission Trip (absolutely wonderful experience, and I learned so much, I might include it in my essay!)
-etc church volunteer work, such as weekly AWANA programs, VBS, etc.
-Newcomer's Assemblies (volunteer work at Immigrants School)
-volunteered at the Kathleen Clay Library</p>

<p>-I just took the SAT and I'm hoping to get a score around 2100-2200.
I haven't taken the ACT yet, but I will be taking it in a few months, along with a math SAT 2 and Literature. I also want to take the AP Government and Politics exam, just to see how I do.</p>

<p>-I think my recommendations are going to be from political science professors, my US History teacher, and people that I've worked and interned for. </p>

<p>It's just that I'm not confident about my GPA, and the B's that I've been getting..
I really am hoping to stand out in my passion and love for political science, and I want to go to Georgetown, because that place is outstanding in its political science and international relations academics. Also, I'm hoping that it I can say I took French for four semesters in college and it will back up the fact that I want to work for the UN, and French and English are the two top necessary languages.</p>

<p>Other schools I'm considering are: University of Chicago, Georgetown, Yale (It's been my dream school, but it's definitely a reach for me!), Columbia (Again, sigh..those ivies)</p>

<p>I need help in determining which schools I should look at and try applying for based on my chances. I don't want to apply for a school completely out of my reach and get rejected, but I don't want to shoot for only easy schools either, because I put in way too much effort in high school to go to a local, in state college. </p>

<p>Help anyone!
Sorry this thread was soooo long, (to whoever is still reading this right now.)
:)</p>

<p>Whoo, feels good to let it all out on a forum.</p>

<p>PS. this anxiety attack was triggered by the Final exam I just took in Chemistry that I totally feel..not so confident about.
argh T_T</p>

<p>How did you get a 3 on the AP Environmental Science exam?</p>

<p>Because my teacher never taught us anything in the class, and all we did was sing stupid songs about the environment.</p>
