Which college do you recommend?(in CA)

I am nearing the end of my admission replies and I have so far been accepted into these colleges in California:
-UC Santa Cruz
-San Jose State
-University of San Francisco
-Santa Clara University
-UC Riverside
-UC Merced

I am looking to major in engineering or business and possibly law, and am considering UC Santa Cruz, Santa Clara University, and maybe even San Jose State as my top choices.

Which colleges, out of these, do you recommend for each major? And how do SCU and UCSC compare? They are all near me and no other factors really influence my decision. Also, are the privates like SCU or USF worth the price? Are they recognized outside of CA?

I'm also waiting on Cal Poly Pomona.

Thanks in advance

It doesn’t address many of your schools but is food for thought. You will also find a thread discussing the SCU business school there.

USF and Santa Clara for law since they both have law schools and the other schools you listed do not of course they are private and cost will be greater
USF probably more expensive for cost of living, housing, dorm availability, etc…
UCR up and coming for sciences-UCR= best buy esp. premed/bio, etc…
dk enough about UCSC
Calif public schools going through big time budget probs and you should factor in the potential cost of 5th or 6th year if COA is a major factor for you…like it is for the rest of us !!
I recommend that you investigate thoroughly the ability to get desired courses-- my son’s minor is being eliminated at one of the UC’s… caveat emptor (you will learn what that means in law school)

Good luck and congrats. You have been accepted to some great schools! Cal POly Pomona is great too, btw.
